  • Patent number: 6172880
Abstract: A faceplate assembly, for use with an electronic circuit card, comprising a faceplate and a movable plate, each including conductive portions or being made of a conductive material, and in electrical contact with each other. The faceplate is adapted to mount to an electronic circuit card, and has first and second opposite edges. The movable plate has a free edge and is movably coupled to the faceplate to move, by pivoting, sliding or the like, with respect to the faceplate between a retracted position and an extended position. Movement of the movable plate can be effected manually, or automatically by movement of the latches on the electronic circuit card assembly which latch the electronic circuit card assembly into an electronic circuit card housing.

  • Patent number: 6089884
Abstract: A track-lighting system of the present invention includes an electrically conductive track, a power supply being adapted to be mounted to the track at a desired position along the track to energize the track, and at least one lighting fixture adapted to be mounted to the track at a desired position along the track. The lighting fixture is independent of the power supply and is electrically connected to the power supply by the electrically conductive track to be powered by the power supply. The track, lighting fixtures and power supply are sized to be mounted beneath an elevated cabinet, such as a kitchen cabinet. The track, the power supply, and lighting fixture are therefore sized and shaped to be substantially flush with a bottom of the lip of the cabinet when the track lighting system is mounted to the cabinet. In one embodiment, the power supply is provided with a wire splice compartment which enables two or more power supplies to be electrically connected in parallel.

  • Patent number: 5759051
Abstract: An extruded track or base has exposed conductor segments molded into the polymeric base. A socket defining adaptor is releasably secured to the base in any location there along by twisting it through only 45 degrees or less. The adaptor is assembled from a back plate that has cams designed to fit into slots provided in the base, and a cover portion that defines a socket for a thru prong plug. In a cavity defined by the cover and back plate fixed and flexible contacts provide electrical connection between the plug socket and the conductor segments in the track or base. Each plug prong is connected with an opposite conductor and the ground plug stud connects to a ground conductor in the base through a spring located at the axis of rotation for the adaptor during the twist locking of the adaptor onto the track.

Abstract: The invention provides an electrical distribution system for skirting boards having an extruded housing which houses a conductor assembly so as to form a longitudinally extending access channel in which, at any location, a connector plug can be inserted. The conductor assembly has a number of slots in opposite faces and in which in one face bus conductors are located. The width of the slots decrease when the conductor assembly is bent so that the distribution system does not have to be cut at wall corners. The connector plug is rotated through 90 degrees to establish electrical contact.
