  • Patent number: 4944687
Abstract: In a deformable system whereby electrical energy distribution conduits and conductors disposed longitudinally therein can be connected along a curved path, the system comprises a deformable central part containing a layer of conductors. Said central part comprises links hinged about axes parallel to the layer and perpendicular to the conductors, which latter are plastically deformable. They are solid conductors having a section which is flattened in the transverse direction of the layer of conductors. • Patent number: 4911651
Abstract: The invention provides a supply box for electric ducting able to be mounted at both ends of an electric distribution ducting. This box comprises a movable part with foolproof means which may be moved transversely with respect to the axis of the ducting, between a first position in which the foolproof means cooperate with associated foolproof means on the ducting so as to allow connection of the box to the ducting and a second position making such connection impossible. Marks provided on the movable part make it possible to identify the conductors of the box for each of the two positions.

  • Patent number: 4862659
Abstract: A wall having an interior channel extending vertically along one and preferably both end edges thereof. This interior channel is closed by an openable door arrangement which can be hingedly moved into an open position so as to uncover one side of the channel and permit cables to be laid directly therein. The door arrangement is externally covered by a portion of the flexible side mat which extends over the entirety of the panel side, including the door, so as to permit the portion thereof over the door to hinge outwardly when the door is opened so that removal of the side mat is not required. The side mat is formed as a continuous covering so as to avoid undesired seam or joint lines.

  • Patent number: 4835915
Abstract: An office wall partition includes a central electronic high-frequency power supply as well as a main fluorescent lamp. The power supply is removably comprised within the partition; and the main fluorescent lamp is inserted into and held by a pair of sockets connected with the power supply by way of a high frequency ballast and mounted within a long narrow compartment on top of the partition. The width of this compartment is only about 2.5", which is about the same as the thickness of a standard office partition; and its length is nearly 6', which is nearly the same as the width of a standard office partition. The fluoresent lamp emits the light upward in the form of a beam of approximately 120 degree spread, thereby providing for glare-free ambient illumination reflected off the ceiling. Power track means and receptacle means mounted on the partition are connected with the power supply and provide for the cost-effective operation of various incandescent and/or fluorescent task lighting modules.

  • Patent number: 4823231
Abstract: A disconnectable current tapping device is provided having clips engageable on onmibus bars and disengageable therefrom by translation of a clip carrying slide controlled by a rotary shaft, which is rotated by a plug which is mounted for translation on the shaft while being urged by a return spring, and which is subjected to the action of a control member such as an operating key. By an axial thrust exerted on the plug, a transmission piece provided with a spur in engagement in an annular groove formed in the plug, is drawn in translation so as to actuate a prebreak microcontact; at the end of rotation of the shaft controlling the disconnection, the piece is retained by a resilient retractable member, whereas the plug is returned only through a ramp provided at the edge of the groove so as to allow release of the spur.

  • Patent number: 4820177
Abstract: An electrical distribution system having specially formed and insulated bus bars in back to back, stacked relationship with each other along the length of the busway and spaced apart where tap-off or other connection may be made. The bus bars are formed to be interchangeable, to the extent possible, within a busway section. For example, in a four bar plug-in section, the two inner bus bars are identically formed and interchangeable by rotating the bars 180.degree.. Similarly, the two outer bus bars are also identically formed and interchangeable. The electrical insulation between bus bars is provided by the use of insulating tubes comprising one layer of varnished glass cloth between two layers of polyethylene terephthalate. Each bar is provided with a hump located for tap-off connection along the length of the busway. The insulating tubes are spaced apart from each other on each bus bar to provide a tap-off contact surface on each hump.

  • Patent number: 4703985
Abstract: A raceway for a curved wall panel, which raceway is formed by two substantially identical raceway cover members which are of substantially L-shaped cross section and include a substantially vertical leg which defines a side cover and a lower substantially horizontal leg. The vertical leg has a tang which projects inwardly adjacent the upper edge thereof for wedging engagement with the wall panel. The cover member is initially constructed as a straight elongated member having sufficient flexibility to enable it to be bent inwardly or outwardly to conform to the curvature of the wall panel. The lower leg, in the longitudinal direction is formed by a plurality of toothlike projections spaced by intermediate recesses so that the lower leg can be readily bent to conform to the curvature of the panel.
