In one aspect, a connector assembly for a component module includes a connector that receives the component module and receives power from a power selection circuit, and a module attachment mechanism operative to secure the component module to the connector when a movable member is in an engaged position. In a disengaged position, the movable member allows the component module to be removed from the connector. When the movable member is moved from the engaged position, the state of a switch of the power selection circuit is changed, causing the power selection circuit to remove power from the connector and from at least a portion of a circuit board to which the connector is electrically coupled.

The hook is retractable, so that the locating post can be easily passed through the hole of the circuit board. Thus, the retaining member can be easily attached to or removed from the assembly.

The card edge connector is constituted by: an insulative housing having a slot; electrical contacts, provided in the slot, for electrically contacting conductive pads of a card, which is inserted into the slot; and the ejector, mounted only at one end of the insulative housing in its longitudinal direction, for ejecting the card. The card edge connector is constructed such that when a second edge of the card, opposite from a first edge at which an engaging protrusion is provided, is pulled in a direction substantially opposite the insertion direction of the card, the card rotates about the first edge, while the engaging protrusion urges a stopper to rotate the ejector, thereby disengaging the stopper from the engaging protrusion.

While a card module is inserted into the central slot in a correct position and rotated downwardly to directly engage and push the guidance studs, the metal portions together with the plastic portions can be deflected outwards so that the card module is secured held.

    Abstract: In a card connector of the present invention, an eject plate has a push-moving portion, an engaging portion and a spring portion, and can be switched to two positions by a heart cam. In an electric connecting state of the card and the connector, the eject plate is set to a second position, and its engaging portion is engaged with a notch formed in the card, and the release of the engagement is prevented by a guide wall, and no card can be pulled out even when strong pulling-out force is applied to the card (full lock). When the eject plate is moved from the second position to a first position by a tension spring, the card is pushed out by the push-moving portion. The engaging portion is also engaged with the notch of the card in this first position, but the release of the engagement is allowed by the wall portion, and the card can be pulled out by elastically deforming the spring portion (half lock).
