Abstract: A light bulb holder is provided which relies on an inner lock type fastening construction to provide optimal securement. The light bulb holder includes a cap and a base. The base has a through groove formed through a lower section sidewall. A through base and axial opening are formed through the base. A slot is formed within the base sidewall and the cap has a tongue molded on the side of a stub of the cap. The cap is inserted in the base and axial openings of the base in a manner such that the stub and the tongue are accommodated in the axial hole and the slot respectively so that a protrusion portion of the tongue engages the base sidewall through the through groove thus firmly securing the cap to the base with an optimal locking effect.

Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical lamp base and socket assembly for mechanically holding and supplying power to an electrical lamp, having a vitreous envelope, allowing mainly axial motion for the lamp and avoiding any turning motion over a certain angle during its insertion into and removal from the socket. The lamp base and socket are made of insulating material, and the lamp base has slot on its surface while the socket has mechanical means with spring mechanism and protruding parts engaging the slot of the socket.

Abstract: A light bulb assembly includes a light bulb, a base receiving the light bulb, and a socket receiving the base. The base is formed with a displaceable arm terminating in a locking element. The socket is formed with an opening through a wall having an edge adapted to receive the locking element to lock the base to the socket. The base is releasable from the socket by passing a pointed implement through the opening to displace the finger and thereby to release the locking element.

Abstract: A lamp holder has a housing which comprises a base part and a cover part. The cover part, which has contact holes to receive terminals of a high pressure gas discharge lamp to provide access to contact members, is integral with a partition wall which extends inside and outside of the housing between the contact holes. The partition wall which divides the housing into chambers extends into a recess in the base part. The cover part and the base part form curved channels through which electric cables are led to respective contact members. As a result of these measures, the risk of breakdown is avoided, yet the lamp holder structure can be compact.

Abstract: An improvement on the connecting mechanism for the lightbulb and bulb socket assembly, includes a socket having a shape of a cup and which can receive connecting wires in its lower part; a lightbulb having a shape a cup and can be received by the socket, characterized in that in the edge of top surface of the lightbulb extends horizontally and outwardly a grasping plate and the grasping plate forms a groove jointly with the top surface of the bulb socket.

Abstract: A retaining mechanism, within a lamp socket, includes a single wire spring element mounted external to the lamp socket and protrudes into the lamp socket opening so as to provide insertion interference to ramped projections extending from either end of a lamp wedge base element and frictional retention against the ramped projections when the wedge base element is fully inserted.

Abstract: A wedge base socket for an SPG substrate comprises a terminal having a bulb connection member and a casing to hold a base of a bulb. The terminal and the casing are individually mountable onto the SPG substrate without requiring a mounting hole in the SPG substrate. A pair of the terminals are preformed and are connected by a provisional bridge which facilitates insertion into substrate. The provisional bridge is broken off after assembly.

Abstract: This invention relates to a Christmas light assembly and more particularly to the one which includes a lamp base comprising divided strips to flexibly match with the outer diameter of bulb so as to let bulb be firmly retained therein. The divided strips are having projecting inner wall portions with a longitudinal scoop channel set between each two projecting inner wall portions for draining of water. The lamp base also comprises two resilient hook members to respectively engage with the upper flange of a lamp holder when it is inserted therein, so as to reinforce the connection.

Abstract: A socket and bulb snap fastener for Christmas light strings includes at least one T-shaped tongue and a corresponding number of receiving means. The T-shaped tongue with a shoulder formed adjacent to a free end of the tongue is formed on an upper margin of a periphery of a socket of the bulb string for a Christmas tree. A V-shaped groove is formed on an upper side of each T-shaped tongue at an end opposite to the free end of the tongue and extends transversely across a length of each tongue. The receiving means is formed, corresponding to each T-shaped tongue, in the vicinity of an upper margin of an insert of the bulb string. The receiving means includes a compartment for receiving the tongue and a path through which the tongue is passable.

Abstract: This invention pertains to a lamp socket assembly for use in automotive applications and the like. The assembly includes a housing, a contact insert, and a body. The contact insert is captured in the cavity of the housing by the body. The body is welded to the housing. Lugs on the body secure the assembly to a panel. A seal is placed between a flange on the housing and the panel to seal the assembly to the panel. Contacts are retained in the contact insert by engagement of U-shaped portions in slots of the contact inserts. Blade terminals are inserted through windows in the housing, contact insert, and contacts to interlock the terminals with the contacts and to keep the contacts secured in their positions. A socket connector is sealingly secured to the housing and prevents moisture from entering the housing. In an alternative embodiment, no socket connector is provided but the blade terminals are crimped to wires for connecting the socket assembly to a source of electric power.

Abstract: A lightbulb assembly composed of (a) a lightbulb and base in electrical engagement in (b) a wired plug and (c) a keeper to keep the assembly together; the keeper includes a cap with an opening in the upper surface for passage of the bulb and with the axial face of the cap in engagement with the axial face of the bulb base, and not the bulb, and with the annular portion of the cap having a portion on it for normal hooked-up engagement with a companionate portion on the plug to keep the lightbulb in electrical engagement with the wired plug in normal use.
