Abstract: When connecting cable test equipment to standard F-connector style coax cables, a technician must use both hands to screw the cable under test into the test equipment or a test lead. In ideal conditions without gloves this is a rather simple task; however, a technician may have to repeat the procedure many times throughout a work day in extreme weather conditions, resulting in the technician having to repeatedly remove their gloves and expose their hands to the cold. A coaxial cable clip connector according to the present invention includes a smooth threadless connector, which fits into the cable under test, and an easily actuated clip, which fits over the coaxial cable connector housing to maintain a solid mechanical and electrical connection.

The system is aesthetically appealing because the tiles lay relatively flat with a very low profile without any bulges or ridges because all wires and connectors embedded in the tiles. This low profile optimizes the roof's ability to withstand wind loads as well as minimizes cracking or breaking of the tiles due to external load forces. The connectors produce uniform spaces between adjacent tiles as well as providing an easy way to extend or exchange tiles. An integrated shunting or bypasses diode provides a current shunt path in the event of a modules' impedance upsurge cause by shading or by non-functioning tiles. This also allows for the flexible arrangement of the PV roofing tiles for a variety of system configurations, e.g. grid-tied, and off-grid systems, while maintaining system reliability and a modularized design.

The female housing (20) has a first lock protecting wall (36) covering a side of the lock arm (31) including a free end portion (31b), and a second lock protecting wall (37) covering a side of the lock arm (31) including base end portions (31a). An unlocking space (38) between the first and second lock protecting wall (36, 37) exposes a middle part (31c) of the lock arm (31) to the outside.

  • Patent number: 7484989
Abstract: A latch end for an electrical connector latch has a low coefficient of friction latch mating surface that engages with a mating slot in a mating electrical connector. The latch pivots around a central pivot point to move the latch end inward toward the center of the connector to engage the mating slot, or outward away from the center of the connector to disengage from the slot. The low friction mating surface may be a plastic overmold or a low friction coating on a metal hook of the latch end. The metal hook provides strength to the latch end. The low friction mating surface provides for a lower coefficient of friction and perhaps a larger contact area between the mating surface and the mating slot or protrusion. The latch engages a mating structure in the mating electrical connector. The mating electrical connector may have prongs that engage corresponding receptacles.
