Abstract: A portable electronic device includes an electronic component, a spring terminal extending from the electronic component to supply power to the electronic component, a circuit component having a power supply section contacting the spring terminal, and a stopper for restricting a movement of the electronic component. The spring terminal has a reversible deformation limit of elastic deformation. The stopper restricts the movement of the electronic component within the reversible deformation limit of the spring terminal. This portable electronic device prevents a spring pressure of the spring terminal from decreasing, hence supplying power to the electronic component stably.

Abstract: The present invention Provides a discharge tube connector which suppresses the occurrence of a damage of a discharge tube at the time of installation and can be easily installed. An end electrode of the discharge tube and a board electrode on a circuit board can be electrically connected with each other through a conductive connection portion without using lead wires, so a damage such as a crack and the like, of a light-emitting portion of the discharge tube can be avoided. When a holding portion is made of a rubber-like elastic material, the conductive connection portion has rubber-like elasticity, so the conductive connection portion can be pressed between the end electrode and the board electrode on the circuit board to conductively connect the end electrode with the board electrode. Therefore, the soldering operation can be omitted. Thus, installation does not take time, so a manufacturing cost can be reduced.

Abstract: A dockable equipment container includes an outer shell of a durable material and an inner metallic container. The inner container is suspended within the outer shell by blocks of energy absorbent material, such as SORBATHANE. The dockable equipment container further includes a connector at one end, which is covered by a protective door. When mated with external equipment, the protective door is moved to an open position by an alignment device, such as alignment pins, pressing against an end of the protective door. The alignment pins mate with corresponding alignment holes for ensuring that the connector properly mates with a corresponding connector in the external equipment. The dockable equipment container may contain various electronic equipment, which communicates with the external equipment through the connector. The electronic equipment may include disk drives, which are protected from the environment and from shock by the construction of the dockable equipment container.

  • Patent number: 6206718
Abstract: A connecting terminal and a circuit breaking device having the connecting terminal are provided. A plate-shaped second bus-bar 19 welded to a conductive thermit casing 26 through a low melting point metal 23. The bus-bar 19 has an orifice 20 formed to fix a wire with a terminal body by thread fastening and a thin part 51 formed between the orifice 20 and the metal 23 to have a plate thickness smaller than that of the other portion of the bus-bar 19. The thin part 51 is provided with wedge-shaped notches 53. When fastening a screw inserted into the orifice 20 in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, a stress resulting from the rotation is absorbed by the thin plate 51 and the notches 53 in pairs. Consequently, owing to the absorption, it is possible to restrict the stress from being transmitted to the welding part of the low melting point metal 23.

Abstract: An interconnect for electrically connecting adjacent solar cells disposed in a solar cell array is disclosed. The interconnect is comprised of three parts: an elongated stress relief part disposed substantially parallel to adjacent side edges of the solar cells which are electrically connected by the interconnect; a first connecting part joined to a first end portion of the stress relief part and to the electrical contact of the first solar cell; and a second connecting part joined to the opposite end portion of the stress relief part and to the electrical contact of the adjacent solar cell. In this manner, stress induced in the interconnect as a result of thermal cycling of the solar cells electrically connected by the interconnect is significantly reduced as compared to prior art configurations to thereby increase the survivability and expected life of the interconnect. In addition, the removal and replacement of the connected solar cells is facilitated.
