    Abstract: A rubber boot (30) is fit on a peripheral surface of a connector housing (10). Wires (90) pulled out of a rear surface of the housing (10) are folded back midway, and a folded region of the electric wires (90) is disposed along a peripheral surface of the boot (30). In this state, a tightening member (50) is tightened to the peripheral surface of the boot (30) to fix the wires (90) and the housing (10) together. A positioning portion (36) for regulating a longitudinal position of the tightening member (50) is provided on the peripheral surface of the boot (30). The phase of the wires (90) and the housing (10) become almost equal to each other when the connector is subjected to vibration. Therefore it is possible to prevent the terminal fittings (60) from vibrating inside the housing (10).

The connector body further includes a wire retention member having at least one surface onto which a wire may be engaged. A cutting projection may also be provided on the wire connector to form a channel in the insulation during insertion of the wire into the connector. The wire retention member or the projection provides sufficient retention of the wire to resist disconnection of the wire from the connector body. A method for connecting wires to the connectors is also provided.

    Abstract: A cord holder is shown and disclosed. The cord holder has a bridge and a fixture on each end of the bridge. The fixture has a finger on the outermost edge of the bridge which extends from one side of the bridge to the other side forming an upwardly opening saddle. A pair of knobs located adjacent to the fingers, extend from the bottom of the bridge. The arrangement of the knobs forms a downward opening curved area for housing the cord. The user inserts one cord into the saddle and the curved area on one end and the second cord into the saddle and curved area on the opposite end. The ends of the cords can then be attached and retained below the bridge in this plugged together position until removed by the users as the cords are retained preventing premature disconnect of the cords. Alternative embodiments show a cord holder either translatable or fixed to one end of the cord. Another embodiment shows multiple cord holders attached to form a multiple line extension cord.

The device can be installed after the harness has been assembled without the need to remove the wires or contacts from the connector.
