Abstract: A plug-in connecting system for flexible conductor films with film-insulated conductors, including a plug-in unit and a counter plug-in unit, which are each provided on a terminal zone of the conductor film and adapted to be inserted into each other for the purpose of establishing an electrical contact of said film-insulated conductors. The plug-in unit and the counter plug-in unit each have a base body and a top which can be brought into an intimate solid contact via a fixing mechanism in said base body, and that at least one penetration structure is provided between said base body and said top, into which a film-insulated conductor of the terminal zone of the conductor film can be inserted before a contact is established between said top and said base body and which penetrates, at least partly, said film-insulated conductor for fixing and establishment of an electrical contact exclusively by pressing said top against said base body.

  • Patent number: 6840795
Abstract: There is provided a connector which is capable of routing a flat cable in a desired arbitrary direction and at the same time preventing the flat cable from being broken. A concave portion is formed in a housing, and a convex portion is formed on a cable-holding member for being slidably fitted in the concave portion. Slits are formed in the concave portion, and projections to be engaged with the slits are formed on the cable-holding member. Thus, directions of rotations of the cable-holding member are restricted such that the cable-holding member can rotate only about a first axis extending in a direction of width of the flat cable and a second axis orthogonal to the first axis and extending in a direction of insertion of the flat cable.

Abstract: Having conductive contacts (4), a first insulator (1) retaining the contacts, and a cable-side insulator, attachable/detachable relative to the first insulator, for retaining a flat cable (6). The cable-side insulator includes a second insulator (2) for receiving the flat cable, a third insulator (3) disposed so as to confront the second insulator via the flat cable, and a clamp (7) interposed between the flat cable and the third insulator. When the cable-side insulator is mounted to the first insulator, the second and third insulators are engaged with the first insulator to approach each other so that the flat cable is sandwiched between the clamp and the second insulator. In this state, the flat cable is connected to the contacts.

Abstract: A connector has wire-side terminal fittings (30) with wire connecting portions (31) and wire-side contact pieces (35). The wire-side terminal fittings (30) are divided into upper and lower stages with their wire connecting portions (31) disposed one over the other to narrow the width of a connector. The wire-side contact pieces (35) are narrower than the wire connecting portions (31). Thus, two wire-side contact pieces (35) at the upper and lower stages can be arranged side by side at substantially the same height in a width area taken up by one wire connecting portion (31). Accordingly, the connector can have a short height.

Abstract: A connector for a ribbon cable is described having two part plates which are preferably connected to one another via a connection piece. The part plates are therefore preferably integral in design. In the region of the connection piece there are contact slots made in the part plates. Preferably the part plates can be produced in the form of continuous plates and cut as required into the desired width from the continuous ribbon. For assembling the connector a ribbon cable is inserted between the part plates and subsequently the part plates are folded on to one another by means of a simple folding operation and preferably permanently connected to one another by fastening elements.
