  • Patent number: 7602112
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly of a capped high-pressure discharge lamp (1) and a lamp holder (50). The discharge lamp comprises an outer envelope (10) in which a discharge vessel (11) is arranged. The outer envelope has a pinched portion (20) provided with a clamping member (25). A lamp cap comprises a substantially circular-cylindrical cup shaped portion for receiving the clamping member and is provided with a protruding collar (36). The lamp holder (50) comprises a substantially circular-cylindrical flange (55) for receiving the cup-shaped portion such that the flange engages the protruding collar. An inner diameter of the flange (55) has a tolerance of less than or equal to ?0.2 mm. An outer diameter of the cup-shaped portion (33) has a tolerance of less than or equal to +0.2 mm. The respective tolerances extend over a length of at least 2.5 mm, measured with respect to the protruding collar.

  • Patent number: 5380214
Abstract: A push-in light socket adapter for use with a conventional household light bulb socket for facilitating a rapid removal and replacement of a light bulb. The adapter includes a threaded socket body which may be engaged to the household light bulb socket in place of the light bulb. The light bulb may then be inserted directly into the adapter without rotating the bulb. The adapter allows a removal of a burnt-out light bulb by a simple pulling motion which releases the bulb from the socket body. A new bulb may then be easily inserted into the adapter by pushing it into the socket body. The light socket adapter further includes an indicator light operable to indicate both a supply of electrical power to the device and a presence of the light bulb within the socket body.

  • Patent number: 5044974
Abstract: A mechanism for locking a fluorescent lamp adaptor to a standard incandescent screw-in lamp socket utilizing base member having a bottom and wall portions. The wall portion of the base member possesses an inner surface and an outer surface and an aperture extends through the wall portion. A male screw-in element is also utilized and is confined to the base member for freely rotating relative to the base member and the screw-in lamp socket. A tool urges the threaded male screw-in element into threading engagement with the standard screw-in lamp socket to permit insertion and removal of the lamp adaptor in relation to the standard screw-in lamp socket.
