Having Protective Cover Formed From Insulating Material Patents (Class 439/718)
  • Patent number: 4752249
Abstract: A side access panel and associated rear fanning strip for enclosing the otherwise open side of a telephone distribution frame connector assembly. The fanning strip interconnects a rear facing edge of the access panel to a rear edge portion of assembly without the use of fasteners. An engaging means such as a clamping strip may also be included as part of the access panel to engage a front facing edge of the assembly to provide a more secure mounting of the panel over the open side.

  • Patent number: 4742541
Abstract: An interface for connection between incoming telephone lines and the customers equipment has a base for mounting on a support surface, with terminals for connection of incoming telephone lines and one or more plug-in positions for plug-in modules. Protectors are positioned in the modules. Each module has a modular jack. An intermediate cover fits over and is attached to the base, covering also the modules but with one or more apertures for access to the jack or jacks. The conductors from the customers equipment either terminate in modular plugs which insert directly into the jacks or terminate in spade terminals which are connected to terminals on the intermediate cover. In the latter case, a short interconnect cable connects at one end to these terminals and at the other end has a modular plug for insertion into a jack. An outer cover extends over the intermediate cover and the modular jack or jacks.

  • Patent number: 4731501
Abstract: Entrance terminal housing having walls sealed together at their junctions and defining a chamber opening. A removable cover is provided for the opening and a seal between walls and cover. In preferred arrangements, removable covers isolate terminals within the housing from other terminals and also isolate the terminals from the rest of the chamber. A fire resistant conductor sleeve is provided of flexible material and is of radially expansible and collapsible tapered tubular form for sealing around a range of numbers of conductors passing through a wall of the housing. In one construction, the sleeve has axially extending corrugations which allow for its expansion and collapse.

  • Patent number: 4722701
Abstract: A fuse block for miniature plug-in blade-type fuses comprising a multi-position bussed fuse holder and a plurality of single-connect fuse holders held within a block comprising a floor and a cage. The fuse block features individual terminal boxes for connecting wires to the single-connect fuse holders. The fuse block is expandable by adding one or more floor extensions, additional single-connect fuse holders, a longer bussed fuse holder, and one or more additional cages.

  • Patent number: 4722702
Abstract: A high density front administered telephone protector block having three terminal connection surfaces disposed on three sides of the block. The block is mounted on an inner end by a rearwardly extending bracket. A first side surface mounts protector modules, an oppositely disposed second side surface mounts outside plant wire wrap pins for connecting subscriber pairs. A third outer end surface extends transversely past the side surface and mounts quick clip terminals for cross connections.

  • Patent number: 4707563
Abstract: A component housing for electrical and electronic circuits and components includes a frame constituting respective narrow sides of the housing at least one of which has a plurality of openings having different configurations in conformity with various connecting techniques to be used. Two lateral covering plates are arrestingly connected to the frame. A contact protection housing portion of an electrically insulating material extends over at least a partial region of the one narrow side of the frame and bounds a receiving space at the region of the one narrow side of the frame, especially for contact protected accommodation of lug-shaped connectors which extend upwardly beyond the one narrow side of the component housing. The contact protection housing portion has apertures that give access to those of the openings which are provided in the region of the one narrow side of the frame and is held in position by the lateral covering plates.

  • Patent number: 4700995
Abstract: A connector has a rectangular box-like form body with end walls and side walls and a transverse wall dividing the body into front and back parts. The transverse wall extends from one end wall to the other but at the sides extends backwards a distance from the side walls and then extends laterally to the back ends of the side walls. This forms a central web portion having a channel along each side and a back chamber between the channels. Terminals are positioned in the central web portion. A stub cable enters through an end wall into the back chamber, the cable conductors connected to rear ends of the terminals. Drop wire conductors can enter through grommets to connect to the front ends of the terminals. A cover is pivotally mounted at one end of the body. The back chamber is filled with potting compound after connection of the cable conductors to the rear ends of the terminals.

  • Patent number: 4700384
Abstract: A telephone line demarcation unit separates the telephone company's property and wiring from those of the user and provides security for the telephone line connections and connectors. Compartments in the unit provide easy access for the user and further provides a selection of different types of connections or equipment that can be utilized. The telephone company terminals and test boards are separately compartmented so that the compartments can be separately sealed with seals to discourage tampering and provide evidence of tampering, and yet the user's portion of the interface box demarcation unit can be easily accessed for connecting a variety of telephone equipment.

  • Patent number: 4676578
Abstract: An electrical interconnection assembly is disclosed for use with high voltage devices such as traveling-wave tubes. The assembly includes an electrically insulating housing having a plurality of recesses formed in its outer and inner surfaces. Leads from the high voltage device can be connected directly to respective conductive pins mounted in recesses in the housing inner surface, and electrical conductors from a power supply can be connected directly to respective conductive pins mounted in recesses in the outer surface of the housing and which are electrically connected to respective conductive pins on the inner surface. Protruding staggered gripping elements on the housing outer surface and on a removable cover plate for the housing minimize the possibility of separation of electrical conductors from the conductive pins.
