Metallic Connector Or Contact Also Having Securing Part Adapted To Be Crimped, Deformed, Or Bent Onto Conductor Patents (Class 439/877)
  • Patent number: 8802987
Abstract: An aluminum electric wire (10) has a metallic core wire (11) coated with an insulation coating (13). A female terminal fitting (20) made of metal different from the core wire (11) has a wire barrel (25) to be connected to the aluminum electric wire (10). A solder seal (30) is formed of solder having a main component with an ionizing tendency close to that of the terminal fitting. The wire barrel (25) is crimped to the core wire (11) exposed by peeling off the insulation coating (13) of the aluminum electric wire (10) and partially sealed with the solder. A seal connection portion (14) connects the insulation coating (13), the exposed core wire (11) and the solder seal (30) to each other in a condition where the coating (13) and the solder seal (30) are sealed off from each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for improving the transition resistance in an electrical connection, in particular a pressure connection, between two contact elements. With repeated mechanical or thermal loads, such connections, in particular connections having a small cross-section or comprising soft material, have a transition resistance which increases over time. According to the invention, the transition resistance is improved by there being applied to at least one contact face of a contact element a chemically reducing substance which activates the contact face and consequently increases the conductivity and the cold welding density.

Abstract: To provide an electric wire with a crimp terminal which can improve a connection stability between a crimp terminal and the electric wire without making a fixing work of the crimp terminal troublesome. In an electric wire with a crimp terminal in which an outer peripheral surface of a conductor portion into which a plurality of metal element wires is bundled together is covered with an insulating sheath portion into an electric wire, and the conductor portion of a terminal portion of the electric wire is exposed, and a conductor crimping portion of the crimp terminal is crimped onto the exposed conductor portion, the terminal surfaces of the plurality of metal element wires are cut in alignments so that the metal element lines extend more as the metal element lines are farther from one side portion side of the exposed conductor portion in a radial direction.

Abstract: Provided is a crimp terminal designed to be crimped onto an end portion of an electric wire to form a terminal-equipped electric wire, achieving both of ensuring mechanical strength of the terminal-equipped electric wire and reducing a contact resistance between the electric wire and the crimp terminal. The crimp terminal comprises an electric contact section and an electric-wire crimp section to be crimped onto a conductor in the end portion of the electric wire, the crimp terminal being formed of a metal plate which has a copper-containing plate body and a tin-plating layer covering a surface of the plate body. In the crimp terminal, the tin-plating layer has a smaller thickness in a crimp surface region where the electric-wire crimp section is to make contact with the end portion of the electric wire is less than that in an electrical contact surface region where the electric contact section is to make contact with a counterpart terminal.
