Abstract: A multifunctional crystal unit in which in the same container constituted by a container body having a recess therein and a cover, a plurality of crystal blanks are hermetically encapsulated. In the container, the crystal blanks are respectively held in different spaces, which are isolated from one another by a shielding member. Hereby, respective crystal blanks are electrically shielded from one another. As the plurality of crystal blanks, a crystal blank of AT cut for generating a communication frequency signal, and a tuning fork type crystal blank for generating a clock signal are preferably used.

A method of reducing cross-talk in an electrical connector system that produces an unwanted cross-talk, comprising the steps of: providing an electrical connector with a plurality of wires extending therefrom and arranged in a plurality of twisted pairs; providing an insert; placing the insert between the wires defining each of the twisted pairs. The insert causes the wires to produce a compensating cross-talk that offsets the unwanted cross-talk.

Abstract: An apparatus for mounting electronic parts and a method of mounting electronic parts capable of effectively performing image capturing at the time of position recognition of the electronic parts. In the apparatus, when images of electronic parts are taken for position recognition of the parts in the mounting of a plurality of the electronic parts held by a mounting head on a circuit board, it is adapted such that pixel signals are output only from specific pixels that are necessary. More specifically, pixel selecting information for allowing image signals to be selectively output from a plurality of specific pixels of photodetecting section 10 of a CMOS area sensor is generated based on mounting schedule data 16C related to a mounting sequence of the electronic parts and part data of the electronic parts stored in data storage 16. Pixel selector 11 is operated in accordance with the pixel selecting information and thus the image signals are output from the selected specific pixels.

Abstract: An improved circuit for splitting or for joining radio-frequency powers, having a main line (7) which is connected between an input port (1) and a first output port (3), and having a branch line (11) which branches off from the main line at a branching point (9) and leads to a second output port (5), is distinguished in that a compensating element (61) is provided which, in particular, is adjustable or can be fitted and removed differently, and which can be varied, varying the capacitance of at least one capacitor (C1, C2, C3) which is connected in the branch line (11), and/or varying the electrical length of a spur line (37) which is coupled to the branch line (11), such that the change in the magnitude of the power which is tapped off also makes it possible to compensate at the same time for the resistance change which is caused by the change in the power split.

Abstract: There is provided a selective communication system of communications/satellite/terrestriallines in which three types of terminals of terrestrial terminals having interface only for terrestrial system, satellite terminals having interface only for terrestrial system and satellite/terrestrial terminals having both interfaces for satellite system and terrestrial system are available and allows a group broadcast communication and selection of transmission route for broadcast communication in consideration of not only transmission time but also communication cost and the quality of lines. The system has a structure including above three kinds of terminals, and selects and changes transmission route based on destination included in the output signal, identifying information whether it is broadcast communication or one-to-one communication, and predetermined judgment condition for transmission route when data are transmitted from switchboard to these terminals.

Abstract: A hot-pluggable disk drive is supported on a carrier structure that is slidably and removably insertable rearwardly into a sheet metal cage portion of a computer system to releasably couple an SCA connector on the rear end of the drive to a corresponding electrical connector on a backplane structure within a rear interior portion of the cage. The carrier structure includes a base wall upon which the disk drive rests, and a pair of transverse side walls disposed on opposite side edge portions of the base wall. To substantially reduce self-induced, performance degrading operational vibration of the inserted drive about the rotational axis of its platter section, outward projections are formed on the opposite side wall portions of the carrier in a forwardly offset relationship with the rotational axis of the drive. As the drive is inserted into the cage, these projections slidingly engage and form an interference fit with inwardly bent opposing side wall portions of the cage.

Abstract: A variable reluctance load cell for measuring the static or slowly fluctuating load, or tension, on devices is contained in a support tube. A sensor in the tube utilizes opposing C and I shaped magnetic cores attached to opposing ends of the support tube. A magnetic circuit is formed having an inductance defined by the size of the gap between the magnetic cores with the reluctance dominated by the gap. The sensor inductance is coupled with a fixed, predetermined capacitance in a resonant LC circuit, and the resonant frequency is a function of the gap. The sensor is in a cavity within the tube, and the cavity is sealed in a manner that prevents water or other damaging agents from entering the sensor. In this manner, mounting the sensor and tube to a static device and measuring the AC voltage at the sensor, the amount of load, or stress can be determined.
