  • Patent number: 10773563
Abstract: A shock absorbing system of an amphibious and remotely controlled vehicle is provided, including a chassis, a controller, a transmission shaft, six transmission members, a front wheel driving mechanism, a rear wheel driving mechanism and a smart electronic device. When the smart electronic device transmits a first control message, the controller drives the transmission shaft to pivot toward a first direction, the transmission shaft leads the six transmission members to pivot and the controller and the chassis move away from the casing of the remotely controlled vehicle. When the smart electronic device transmits a second control message, the controller drives the transmission shaft to pivot toward a second direction, the transmission shaft leads the six transmission members to pivot and the controller and the chassis move toward the casing of the remotely controlled vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7713102
Abstract: A power train configuration for an amphibious vehicle especially well suited for sit-astride applications. A prime mover drives a marine propulsion unit and/or at least one road wheel wherein the such road wheel is driven through a speed-change transmission. The speed-transmission is positioned above or below the axis of the prime mover's output shaft and preferably such that its input and output shafts are aligned at an angle of up to 90 degrees relative to the vehicle's longitudinal and lateral axes and/or the axis of the prime mover's output shaft.

  • Patent number: 7416457
Abstract: An amphibious vehicle (32) having a transverse mid- or rear-mounted engine (12) arranged to drive rear road wheels (30) and/or through an axial transmission (37), a marine propulsion unit (38), in which the engine (12) is so mounted in relation to the transmission (37) to the marine propulsion unit (38) that the bottom (8) of the engine is below the axis (37) of the transmission. This ensures an advantageous metacentric height which is preferably between 370 and 180 mm.

  • Patent number: 7214112
Abstract: An amphibious vehicle has a power train including an engine having an oil sump connected to a lower portion of the engine an in-line transmission and a power take off. The power take off is located between the engine and the transmission thereby separating the engine and the transmission, is driven by the engine crankshaft and drives the transmission; and is adapted to transfer drive to a marine propulsion unit located at the rear of the amphibious vehicle by means of a drive shaft which runs below or through the oil sump of the engine or alongside the engine. The output from the transmission is adapted by a transfer drive to drive a differential located at the rear of the amphibious vehicle; and optionally also to drive a front differential, to provide all-wheel-drive The vehicle may have a vee-type hull or a cathedral type hull; and may comprise retractable suspension, with angled retraction.

  • Patent number: 6821166
Abstract: Power train for amphibious vehicle comprises engine aligned with longitudinal vehicle axis, transmission, and power take off mounted between engine and transmission. At least one marine propulsion unit mounted at the rear of the vehicle, is driven by shaft which runs alongside the transmission. Either transmission is offset to axis, and marine propulsion unit is on axis; or transmission is on axis, and the marine propulsion units are offset to axis. The driven road wheels may be the front wheels, the rear wheels, or all four. The engine may be at the front of the vehicle and the transmission at the back. Alternatively, the transmission may drive forward to a differential mounted adjacent to the engine sump, with wheel drive shaft passing through said pump.

  • Patent number: 6540569
Abstract: A utility vehicle integrated a motorcycle and a motorized watercraft within a hull is presented. It can be set in a motorcycle status or a motorized watercraft status. The two statuses of the vehicle shares a driving power source, and a driving power shifting control system is used to shift the driving power to either one of the two statuses with rider's choice. A steering system also is used to control the move directions for both the motorcycle status and the motorized watercraft status. The hull of the vehicle is formed by a front hull with a front wheel cabinet and a rear hull with a rear wheel cabinet, and it is sealed to make the vehicle buoy on the water surfaces as a motorized watercraft. The wheels of the vehicle can be pushed out with the open of the wheel cabinet doors to stand as a conventional motorcycle, or can be pulled back and hide in the wheel cabinets with the close of the wheel cabinet doors.
