  • Patent number: 7517582
Abstract: Personal care products comprising supersaturated solutions and core compositions comprising activation means are disclosed. In one embodiment, a core composition comprising the activation means is surrounded by an encapsulation layer. The core composition comprising the activation means may be introduced into wet wipes such that, upon rupture and contact between the supersaturated solution and the activation means, the wet wipe solution is warmed resulting in a warm sensation on a user's skin. Any number of other active ingredients, such as biocides, can also be incorporated into the personal care product.

Abstract: Electrically conductive paths are positioned in and extend transversely across the width of the backing of strips of wrapping material. The electrically conductive paths provide means for conducting electrical current through spirally wrapped protective materials from the surrounding earth to voids formed adjacent the overlapped edges of the wrapping material and thus permit cathodic protection for pipe surfaces exposed to voids formed as a result of improper application or bonding failures of the wrapping material.

  • Patent number: 7138211
Abstract: A solidifying material for a cell electrolyte solution is a block copolymer, which comprises, as segments A, a polymer non-compatible with the cell electrolyte solution and, as segments B, a polymer compatible with the cell electrolyte solution. The solidifying material absorbs and solidifies the cell electrolyte solution. A smallest unit of the block copolymer is A-B-A. To each of the segments B, at least one group selected from the group consisting of a carboxyl group, an ester group, a hydroxyl group, a sulfonic group, an amino group, a cyclic carbonate group and a polyoxyalkylene group is bonded via a —S— bond or a —C— bond.

  • Patent number: 7115535
Abstract: The present invention relates to a substantially dry, disposable personal care article comprising: a) a water insoluble substrate comprising: 1) a non-scouring, lofty, low-density batting layer comprising synthetic fibers; and 2) a non-lofty, fluid-permeable nonwoven layer which is disposed adjacent to said batting layer; and b) a cleansing component disposed adjacent to said batting layer, wherein said component comprises from about 10% to about 1000%, by weight of the water insoluble substrate, of a lathering surfactant. The present invention further relates to a substantially dry, disposable personal care article suitable for conditioning wherein the above-described article comprises a therapeutic benefit component, disposed adjacent to said water insoluble substrate, wherein said component comprises from about 10% to about 1000%, by weight of the water insoluble substrate, of a therapeutic benefit component in addition to or in lieu of the cleansing component.

  • Patent number: 7041409
Abstract: An ionomer and a process for forming the ionomer such that the ionomer has (1) low equivalent weight; below 950, preferably between 625 and 850, and most preferably between about 700 and about 800; and (2) high conductivity, (greater than 0.15 S/cm). In an alternative embodiment, the ionomer has (1) low equivalent weight; below 950, preferably between 625 and 850, and most preferably between about 700 and about 800; and (2) acceptably low hydration, (less than about 75 weight percent). • Patent number: 6936330
Abstract: Disclosed are cleaning sheets having substantial macroscopic three-dimensionality. Optionally, the macroscopically three-dimensional cleaning sheets can comprise a contractable material (e.g., a scrim material), which when heated and then cooled contracts so as to provide a macroscopic, three-dimensional structure. Macroscopic three-dimensionality is described in terms of “average peak-to-peak distance” and “surface topography index”, as well in terms of “average height differential”. Also disclosed are cleaning implements comprising a handle and the described cleaning sheets. Processes for the sheets, benefits of the processes, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.
