  • Patent number: 6203394
Abstract: An ornamental liquid color box includes stationary clear containers fixedly mounted on a cover of a seat. Propellers are provided on the seat to propel liquid colors flowing into the seat to liquid passages that are led to upper storing zones of the containers. Liquid colors sent to the upper storing zones then moves into narrowed middle display zones to form flattened and irregular drips before reaching lower storing zones of the containers and entering the seat again to complete a cycle of movement of the liquid colors in the liquid color box. The whole liquid color box need not be manually or mechanically turned to maintain continuous circulation of the liquid colors in the liquid color box. The propellers are driven to rotate by driving means that may be coil windings or a combination of a motor and magnet-loaded driving and driven gear wheels. No leakproof means, such as shaft seals, are required for the liquid color box.

Abstract: A candy holding device that is designed to combine candy and which supports the candy. The device includes an upper housing, a middle housing, and a lower housing. The upper housing is a liquid-filled container that has a metallic rotor in the lower portion. The rotor is put in motion by a motor and a magnetic rotor causing a tornado movement within the liquid to provide entertainment. The liquid may also containing objects (glitter, three-dimensional figures, etc.) that are visible to the user. Additionally, at the top of the upper housing is a support for a piece of candy which can be made to be replaceable is desired. The middle housing contains the motor and a switch means. The motor spins the magnetic rotor that in turn spins the metallic rotor in the upper housing. The switch means controls the motor and the lower housing contains the power source.

  • Patent number: 6179683
Abstract: A swimming aquatic creature simulator having a body which propagates waves of undulation of and along that body to thereby propel the simulator through a fluid in a lifelike manner. The body is formed of an elastomeric material and may be shaped like a fish. Applying oscillating rotational motion to the body at a location forward of the center of mass of the body produces undulating movements of the body which propel the simulator. The oscillating motion input may be provided by twisting a rigid shaft or flexible cable, which is connected to the body at a point forward of the center of mass. An internal motor can also be used to provide the oscillating motion input.

  • Patent number: 5947784
Abstract: A device that produces toroidal bubbles of gaseous fluid when operated in immersed relation to a body of liquid fluid. A first embodiment is operated by a person who blows into a first end of the device with a short burst of air, and a second embodiment is operated by a pneumatic pump that delivers a short burst of air to the first end. A normally closed valve such as a poppet valve is positioned on a second end of the device. The valve opens and closes very rapidly in response to the burst of air. Air escaping around the peripheral border of the valve creates a toroidal bubble that expands in volume as it approaches the surface of the liquid fluid; the effect is visually pleasing. The valve of the device may also be held in the mouth, eliminating the conduit. In additional embodiments, the source of gaseous fluid is any pneumatically-charged device.

  • Patent number: 5928053
Abstract: An amusement device for propelling water either from a self contained reservoir or from a standing body of water. The amusement device is a type of toy whip that uses a whipping action to propel water toward a target. The amusement device contains a tubular handle and at least one flexible tubular element that extends from one end of the tubular handle, thereby forming an overall tubular structure having a rigid section and a flexible section. By partially submerging the tubular handle in a body of water and manipulating the overall tubular structure with a whipping action, water is drawn up into the tubular structure. The flexible tubular element extending from the handle tapers toward a small exit aperture. As the whipping motion of the overall tubular structure forces water toward the exit aperture, the water becomes compressed by the taper of the flexible tubular element. As a result, the water is propelled from the exit aperture at a high rate of speed.

  • Patent number: 5865662
Abstract: A weight-adjusted underwater toy is disclosed having a somewhat lower specific gravity than water, and having its center of gravity located below and somewhat behind the volumetric center of the toy. The toy has a streamlined shape, like a fish, a sea animal, a swimmer, or a submarine. The model will follow a long glide curve similar to an approximately upside down ballistic path when flung into the water, and will always rotate into a position with its back up and its abdomen down. When rising, the location of the center of gravity will provide an inclined forward/upward position for the model, and horizontal side wings (fins or other details) will prevent a purely vertical rising movement by providing a forwardly directed momentum during a buoyancy movement.

Abstract: A variable buoyancy amusement device for use in water includes a body having a water-impermeable outer surface and an internal volume. A relatively heavy lower portion of the body has a local density significantly greater than that of water so that the body tends to assume an upright orientation with the lower portion at the underside of the body. • Patent number: 5009413
Abstract: A tube with a restricted end is used to produce a spray of water by manually forcing the non-restricted end of the tube into a body of water. The resulting spray comes out of the restricted end of the tube. Thus, the spray is not in line with the direction of force needed to achieve the spraying action. The tube and restriction combination provides a device that can be used for aquatic amusements, exercise, etc., in an inherently safe manner.

  • Patent number: 4925181
Abstract: An amusement device for forcibly propelling a coherent water jet from a body of water such as a swimming pool utilizing a housing having a generally tapering open passage from one end to the other, with the larger end of the passage being open and essentially unobstructed for admitting water freely into the passage when the larger end is at least partially submerged in the body of water, the smaller end of the passage being formed to provide an open but constricted nozzle whereby quantities of water forced into the passage through the larger end are accelerated and ejected forcibly through the nozzle to form a substantially coherent water jet capable of traversing significant distance before breaking up, control and actuation of the device being provided for by handles on opposite sides of the housing adjacent to the larger open end. A modified form of the invention mounts a pair of conical housings in side-by-side relation for joint action.

  • Patent number: 4881915
Abstract: A realistic hatching of a dinosaur occurs from an egg-like storage container. A transluscent egg sheel includes a series of crack lines, which forms weakened fault lines on the surface of the eggshell. A compressed sponge dinosaur is located within the eggshell. Opening at the ends and/or sides of the eggshell allow water to enter the shell when the egg is placed in hot water of a preferred temperature of 50.degree.-60.degree. C. The water entering the shell, after approximately 5 to 10 minutes, causes the compressed sponge dinosaur to expand and break through the eggshell at random points on the shell, preferably along the molded crack lines of lesser thickness than the remainder of the eggshell. The rupturing of the shell occurs at its weakest points, as affected by the depth of the preformed cracks in the shell as well as the portions of the shell which have dissolved due to the exposure to hot water.
