  • Patent number: 9302195
Abstract: A spinning toy assembly includes a pair of cords each coupled between a pair of rings. The pair of rings is gripped by a user. A plate is positioned on each of the pair of cords. The plate is spun by the user so the pair of cords are twisted around each other. The pair of cords transfers a twisting inertia into the plate so the plate is rapidly spun. A processor is coupled to the plate. A light emitter is coupled to the plate and the processor. A speaker is coupled to the plate and the processor. The speaker and the light emitter is each actuated the plate is spun. A sensor is coupled to the plate and the processor. The sensor detects a rotation of the plate. The sensor actuates the processor when the plate is spun on the pair of strings.

Abstract: A spark pole is useful for controlling the movement of a rider of a wheeled device over a skating surface, and for generating sparks as the rider moves with respect to the skating surface. The spark pole has a shaft with a handle at one end and a grinding head at the other end. The grinding head supports at least one spark-producing body that generates sparks when it frictionally engages a skating surface. The grinding head also has a grinding head for frictional engagement with the skating surface to control the rider's movement along the skating surface. The shaft is preferably telescoping and adjustable in length.

  • Patent number: 7086612
Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly, sock, and method for generating foam. The assembly includes a housing having a chamber, and a first and second orifice. A fan arranged within the housing draws a flow of air into the chamber through the first orifice and exhausts the flow of air through the second orifice to form an exhausted flow of air. A nozzle is arranged within the chamber and is situated in proximity to the second orifice to allow introduction of a fluid into the exhausted flow of air through the second orifice. A permeable sock includes an inner surface and an outer surface. The sock is arranged to occlude the second orifice in a manner to receive the exhausted flow of air with the fluid at the inner surface.

  • Patent number: 6821181
Abstract: An amusement device with sparking means comprises a central housing which encapsulates a power means. An axle support is located at a bottom portion of the housing, functioning to allow an axle to extend horizontally therethrough. A plurality of wheels are rigidly affixed to the axle and located at extreme ends of the axle. The axle is of a generally bent configuration, functioning to allow the amusement device to move across a surface in a wave-like pattern. A rudder member acting as front support means comes in contact with a flat surface upon which the amusement device is placed, and is rigidly affixed to a wind-up handle. The wind-up handle is rigidly connected to the power means located within the housing, functioning to allow a user to crank the handle to engage the power. A generally elliptical friction disc member is located at a position above the housing and positioned horizontally thereto. The friction disc member comprises a rotating arm, which is parallel to the friction disc.

  • Patent number: 6325689
Abstract: The pyrotechnic entertainment product has an upright spindle that may be pushed into the ground for support until a coil in the spindle engages the top surface of the ground. The image of an upright dancing bull or other creature is secured to the spindle intermediate its opposite ends and is poised as if he were performing the steps of a Mexican hat dance. A pyrotechnic pinwheel resembling a sombrero is rotatably carried on the upper end of the spindle slightly above the head of the bull. When the pinwheel is ignited, it propels itself about the spindle like a spinning sombrero while emitting a colorful plume of sparks reminiscent of the energy, color, and excitement of the traditional Mexican hat dance.

  • Patent number: 5545092
Abstract: A system and method for generating special effects showers of sparks for use in theme park shows and rides. A flint rod is biased with fluid pressure against a cutting wheel of this system. When a clutch is actuated for a brief predetermined time period, a constant high speed motor is operatively connected to the cutting wheel, rapidly rotating it. The rotating wheel cuts, ignites and discharges small portions of the flint rod biased thereagainst away therefrom in a stream of sparks. An air stream directs the stream of sparks out as a special effects shower of sparks. One embodiment of this system propels the spark stream out through a venturi nozzle. By changing the gas stream fluid pressure and/or the clutch connect time and/or the flint rod biasing pressure and/or the clutch connect/disconnect interval timing, the size and characteristics of the shower of sparks can be accurately controlled and altered as desired.

  • Patent number: 5525085
Abstract: A toy includes a toy vehicle, a launching assembly, and a rotatable sparking mechanism for generating sparks before the vehicle is launched from the launching assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the launching assembly includes a base track having a rack gear, and a push handle including a spring biased plunger. The sparking mechanism is mounted in the vehicle and a drive gear for sparking mechanism extends downwardly where it meshes with the rack gear when the vehicle is received on the base track. The push handle is slidably movable for advancing the vehicle along the base track wherein advancement of the vehicle causes rotation of the sparking mechanism thereby generating sparks, and further wherein a resistance of the sparking mechanism maintains the plunger in a depressed disposition until the drive gear disengages the rack gear.
