  • Patent number: 4698042
Abstract: The abstract and open-topped container includes a cover panel engagable within the open top acting as a closure. The panel also forms part of the hull of a boat which extends upwardly from the cover panel and is stored within the container when engaged therewith. When removed, it is reversed with the outer face of the cover panel becoming the underside of the boat with the boat extending upwardly therefrom. This can be used as a bath toy for children or, alternatively, in larger size, can consist of a camper unit with the boat being stored on the underside of the cover panel.

  • Patent number: 4682967
Abstract: The present invention relates to a series of building blocks of different shapes, wherein each individual building block unit comprises a horizontal partition plate (2) which divides the unit block into upper and lower compartments, a supporting partition wall (1) wherein on the surface of supporting partition wall (1) at the upper compartment of the unit there is a row of equi-spaced hole. One of the characteristics of the building blocks is that three of the faces of the block are not enclosed by any plate. The block units may have a square, rectangular, semicircular or circular shape. The block units may also have a triangular, sector, trapezium or a truncated sector shape, each of the last four shapes having an angle of either 60.degree., 72.degree. or 90.degree.. Hence, there are altogether 16 types of blocks which can be arranged in many geometric shapes.

  • Patent number: 4637805
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for engaging toothpicks to assemble a toy structure having different possible structural configurations. The toy structure is formed using toothpicks in conjunction with one or more support members, each support member including a plurality of support sleeves radiating outwardly therefrom. Each support sleeve has a conically shaped passageway therein for engaging one end of the toothpick wherein the support sleeve connects the toothpick to the support member. The toy structure is assembled by interconnecting the toothpicks with a plurality of support members. The support sleeves project outwardly in both the horizontal and vertical directions to provide support for toothpicks in the horizontal and vertical planes. The unattached end of a toothpick is "capped" with an additional support member having support sleeves thereon to act as sites for future expansion.

Abstract: A pair of binoculars which is convertible to a toy robot. The binoculars have a body to which leg tubes are attached, each leg tube having an ocular lens inserted in one end and an objective lens inserted in a second end. A focusing device is also attached to the body and is used to focus the lenses to sharply view a desired object. To convert the binoculars into a toy robot, hinged body frames on the binocular body rotate outward to form arms and the leg tubes are extendable to form legs. A cover over the torsion spring connecting the two halves of the body, rotates away from the body to form the robot's head. An upper set of notches and a lower set of notches along the outer parameter of the leg tubes are used to fit the body frame ends into and hold the toy in either the binocular form or the robot form and set of notches are used to insert the body frame ends to hold the toy in the binocular form.

Abstract: A free-standing rolling book comprises plural sheets, bound along one marginal edge. In the preferred embodiment, the book cover includes printed matter depicting a wheeled vehicle having wheel wells disposed adjacent the bottom edge of the book. Respective wheels are rotatably cantilever mounted at each of the wheel wells. The dimensions of the sheets and the wheel span of the wheels are selected such that the wheels support the sheets in a free-standing position so as to permit the book to roll without external support. The wheel span should be at least two-sevenths of the distance between the center of gravity of the book and the wheel-supporting surface, and, in the preferred embodiment, is one-seventh of the book's height.

  • Patent number: 4583651
Abstract: A novelty bottle cap-toy top which, may be used to seal a bottle and/or a toy top. The bottle cap-toy top comprises a hollow shell of generally semi-spherical configuration and a stem. The hollow shell has a top flat outer surface and opposite thereto a lower opening through which there is an inwardly extending sealing portion adapted to engage and seal the throat of a bottle. The stem, generally perpendicular to both the top flat outer surface and the plane of the lower opening, extends from the interior of the cap, through the opening, and outwardly therefrom. When the cap, top flat portion down, is spun by the stem on a horizontal surface, the cap will rotate out of its central axis through ever larger circles until the end of the stem contacts the horizontal surface causing the cap to jump into an inverted position and spin on the tip of the stem. As the spinning slows, the top falls, rolls on its surface and comes to rest on the top flat face.
