  • Patent number: 11547096
Abstract: An insertable beehive entrance device allowing entrance into the beehive and disrupting exit from the beehive in order to make the moving of honey bee hives to a new location less problematic. The device includes a base with an entrance opening and a two legs attached to the base forming a triangular frame, the frame forming an entrance at its apex. The frame includes a mesh top covering and a reflective bottom covering configured to be brighter than the inner hive. Once placed in the hive entrance it allows honey bees to enter the hive through the insertable device but disrupts their normal pattern of exit. Bees are now trapped in the hive making it simpler to move. When catching honey bee swarms, this device placed in the entrance makes coming back for the swarm box more convenient.

  • Patent number: 11310998
Abstract: A modular observational beehive system. The system includes a base including an elongated member, a pair of support legs, and a latch affixed to each support leg. A first and second hive module each include a pair of sidewalls, a pair of end walls, an upper wall, and a lower wall defining an interior volume adapted to support a hive frame therein. Openings in the end walls allow for the introduction or removal of bees feed, and honey. The first hive module and the second hive module each include a latch and a hook disposed on each sidewall. Using the latches and hooks, the first hive module is securable to the base, and the second hive module is securable to the top of the first hive module in a stacked configuration. The system can be utilized to provide a compact apiary with transparent sidewalls that allow for user observation.

  • Patent number: 11297805
Abstract: A miticidal beehive entranceway is provided having a solid substrate coated with a thymol-containing composition and having holes dimensioned to compel bees entering/exiting the beehive to walk through the holes and contact the thymol-containing composition, thereby exposing mites attached to the bee to a killing dose of thymol while not injuring the bee. In some embodiments, the entranceway may have agitating bristles (which may be coated with thymol) extending into the entranceway, which contact the body of the bee to agitate or dislodge the mites attached to the bee, further enhancing mite removal or death.

  • Patent number: 10898773
Abstract: Removable and re-attachable grips design to allow simple, fast changing of grips on shaft. The present disclosure relates in general to a re-changeable or interchangeable grip particularly suited for golf whose attachment requires three basic securing movements. In the first movement, heel components of the grip are first positioned onto the shaft, by either rotational torque or downward pressure, which result in securing the upper, proximal portion of the gripping sleeve onto the shaft. In the second movement, once the grip is situated and secured into place on the shaft, the grip is centered on the shaft by fastening toe components at the lower, distal portion of the grip sleeve onto the shaft.
