  • Patent number: 8986075
Abstract: Disclosed is a blade grinder comprising a blade holder that is mounted so as to be rotatable about a horizontal shaft which is mounted so as to be rotatable about a vertical axis, thus allowing the blade to be optimally adjusted relative to a grinding disk. The grinding disk can preferably be vertically and horizontally moved using spindles. This creates a simple design allowing a lawnmower blade to be ground in a fully automatic manner.

  • Publication number: 20110065367
Abstract: A grinding device includes a fixed barrel, a moving barrel, a grinding plate, and an actuator. The fixed barrel defines a chamber and includes a number of inner surfaces substantially parallel to a central axis, each of which defines a holding groove therein for holding a workpiece. The moving barrel is received in the chamber and includes a side surface substantially parallel to the central axis and defines an installation groove. The grinding plate is fixedly installed in the installation groove. The actuator is configured for driving the moving barrel to spin and move back and forth along the central axis, and driving the moving barrel to move towards a workpiece so that a surface of the workpiece is grinded into a desired arc surface by the grinding plate, and driving the moving barrel to move towards another workpiece after the desired arc surface of the workpiece is obtained.

  • Patent number: 6913526
Abstract: A polishing machine for polishing a periphery of a sheet of the present invention comprises a grinding shaft tilting mechanism (1) capable of changing a tilting angle of a rotary shaft of a grinding stone (3) with respect to a rotary shaft of the sheet (2) and also capable of changing its tilting direction. Accordingly, in a recess portion or a protrusion portion in the periphery, when the tilting direction is changed while the tilting angle is being maintained, chamfering (polishing) can be executed with high accuracy in the same manner as that of the outer circumferential portion of the sheet.

  • Patent number: 6390894
Abstract: A face gear manufacturing operation wherein a set of oversized teeth are formed on a face gear or tapered pinion gear by a gear cutting operation. The oversized teeth are of a predetermined profile. The gear bearing the oversize teeth is then subjected to metallurgical surface hardening operation. At the conclusion of the heat treatment surface hardening operation, the face gear or pinion gear is subjected to a continuous grinding operation wherein a grinding wheel having a worm profile of a predetermined shape is rotated to grind the previously cut teeth to produce a finished tooth profile. The operation is CNC controlled. The gear producing apparatus requires only a slight modification to produce a face gear or a tapered pinion gear by the simple interchange of work heads.

  • Patent number: 6059642
Abstract: An apparatus for grinding a shank of a drill bit includes a base and several movable jaws supported by the base, that are movable toward each other and away from each other. A support ring is rotatably secured to the base, which has a central opening that encircles the movable jaws. A laterally adjustable grinding wheel support is secured to the support ring. Incremental rotation of the support ring results in incremental orbital movement of the grinding wheel support relative to the movable jaws. Lateral adjustment of the grinding wheel support moves the grinding wheel support toward and away from the movable jaws.

  • Patent number: 5921847
Abstract: A swing grinding fixture and process for using the same is disclosed that enables a conventional surface grinder to remanufacture a machine tool cutting insert by grinding a predetermined shape into the insert. A quick clamping insert holder coupled to a slide secures the tool insert in the fixture. A precision spindle cartridge is mounted in a rigid fixture body and coupled to the slide to provide the swing motion required to generate the radius to be ground. The rigid fixture body includes a pair of micrometer adjustable stops which limit the arc through which the slide may be swung and control the flank shape ground into the insert. In an alternative embodiment, a sine plate is attached to the fixture body and is used to incline the fixture to a predetermined insert rake angle. In operation, the grinding fixture is securely mounted to the table of a surface grinder and a cutting tool insert is secured in the insert holder.

  • Patent number: 5613898
Abstract: A device for producing inclines and/or grooves on friction pads, such as brake pads for motor vehicles comprises a table with a mount for the brake pads. The table is linearly moved on a carriage below flat, truncated-conical grind disks which are disposed in pairs and oriented mutually mirror-symmetrical. The table is swivellable about an axis oriented tranversely to the travel direction. The swivel movement is effected by at least one pneumatic cylinder. Control valves or control switches run onto cam ramps on cam bars when the table is driven forward and they initiate the swivel operation of the table. The friction pad is operated on when the table is in the downwardly or upwardly pivoted position, whereby the table is preferably locked in its position during the various grinding operations.
