Abstract: A stuffing apparatus includes: a stuffing nozzle for discharging a stuffing material from a discharge port into a casing; a stuffing pump for feeding the stuffing material into the stuffing nozzle; a casing pushing device which has a casing pusher and a fluid cylinder having a cylinder, a piston, and a rod, and which is adapted to push in a direction toward the discharge port of said stuffing nozzle a trailing end portion of a casing which is yet to be stuffed and is in a shirred state; and a movement stop detecting device (casing breakage detecting device) for detecting stoppage of the casing pushing device in the course of its movement.
Abstract: Methods for combining a tubular net with a carrier casing are disclosed. Air is blown into a carrier casing so that it is inflated to have a circular diameter. The inflated carrier casing is pulled in the direction of a tubular net toward a pleating head. The tubular net has holes and an open end of the tubular net is attached to a clamp. The inflated carrier casing is fed into the tubular net while pulling the net inside out over itself. The inflated carrier casing covered by the tubular net is pulled through the pleating head (which constricts the carrier casing) toward a shirring machine that includes the shirring mandrel. Air is blown from inside the shirring mandrel at a pressure that forces at least some areas of the carrier casing between the holes of the net to form protruding bulges, and the net/carrier casing combination is shined.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a device (1) for portioning a food product (3) continuously extruded from a filling apparatus, preferably for making meat-base elongated extrusions in form of sausages, frankfurters and the like, wherein two front and opposed pincers (4) carry out a succession of neckings onto the extrusion (3), via outwardly and inwardly reciprocating alternate motions therebetween parallel, carried out by plural gearings, the kinematic motion enabling the pincers (4) to carry out axial displacement s concomitantly to said reciprocating motions, so as to follow the extruded product (3) in the feeding direction thereof and in predetermined lengths which are variable by variably adjusting the angular velocities of said gearings.
Abstract: A process and device for the separation and placing of a gut caterpillar 1 on a filling tube 2, the gut caterpillar 1 being withdrawn from a storage vessel 3 for storing gut caterpillars with a conveyor device, positioned in front of the filling tube 2 essentially in alignment and slipped onto the filling tube 2 from this position. A simple construction and a high functional reliability of the device, with which the processing of not perfectly formed gut caterpillars 1 is made possible without their kinking or bending is achieved by the fact that the gut caterpillar 1 is slipped onto the filling tube 2 by at least two guide surfaces 5, 22 which rest against its circumference and are driven at the same speed.
