Screw Patents (Class 452/44)
  • Publication number: 20120295005
Abstract: An apparatus and method of applying dry ingredients to a meat includes a stuffing horn with separate flow channels. An outer elongated flow channel is configured to have tubular casings disposed therearound. An inner elongated flow channel is disposed within the outer elongated flow channel. A first inlet is configured to introduce a meat stream into the inner elongated flow channel. A second inlet, connected to the inner elongated flow channel, is configured to introduce dry ingredients into the conduit between the outer and inner elongated flow channels. At the end of the stuffing horn, the inner and outer elongated flow channels are configured to create a void space around the meat stream where the dry ingredients are deposited onto an outside surface of the meat stream prior to the meat stream being deposited into a tubular casing.

  • Patent number: 7144316
Abstract: An auger device for a nozzle of a sausage-making machine has a body with a top, a proximal end and a distal end, an inlet, an outlet, an elongated auger, a mounting ring and a casing holder. The inlet is formed on the top of the body. The outlet is formed on the distal end of the body. The elongated auger extends out of the outlet. The mounting ring is mounted on the outlet. The casing holder is mounted on the outlet at the mounting ring. When sausage links are made, ground meat is pushed by the elongated auger, which prevents meat blockage inside the casing holder. Thus, the nozzle for a sausage-making machine will eliminate machine stoppage due to meat blockage.

  • Patent number: 5352150
Abstract: The invention concerns a feeding device installed in a loading bin of a sausage filling machine, consisting of a feed screw 2 which is affixed to a mounting ring 1 that is attached to a roller bearing including a gear rim 10. The mounting ring 1 is provided with at least two upper gaskets and two lower gaskets whose function is to prevent any eventual migration of lubricant from the mechanism housing 26 from contaminating the meat product area 7, while at the same time preventing any contaminating effect of the sausage meat in the opposite direction. The spaces that develop between each pair of gaskets create cleansing areas 13 which assure that such contamination cannot occur. The cleansing areas 13 may also contain a lubricant for the above mentioned gaskets.

  • Patent number: 5154543
Abstract: A preassembled unit for a sewage nitrification field has minimum outward dimensions of loose, lightweight plastic aggregate material enveloped and bound by a plastic sleeve around a horizontal conduit. In one embodiment, the unit takes a bag form with an aggregate-filled netting sleeve concentrically surrounding and fastened to the ends of corrugated plastic vent pipe. In another form, the sleeve is a plastic extrusion of rectangular cross-section and the conduit can be formed integrally with the sleeve. Cross-webbing is added for strength. In ground installation, conduitless units make up the insufficiency of aggregate dimension. Mating male and female end caps are used to interconnect the conduit of adjacent units end-to-end. Apparatus for manufacturing the concentric netting sleeve/vent pipe version has a hopper that discharges aggregate into the top of a mandrel and an annular disc or helical auger blade that pushes the aggregate forward into the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5113635
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically feeding and packing surimi of fish or shellfish, including a feed hopper having a top inlet for feeding the surimi therefrom and a bottom outlet for discharging the surimi therefrom. A screw feeder connected to the bottom outlet of the fed hopper has two screws for passing the surimi through the screw feeder. A feed pump feeds a predetermined quantity of the surimi flowing out from an exit of the screw feeder in which the predetermined quantity of the surimi is formed into a desired shape by a forming tube. A wrapping tube forming device forms a plastic film into a continuous wrapping tube to be packed with the surimi.
