Plural Vanes Pivoting About Individual Axes Patents (Class 454/319)
  • Patent number: 5397267
Abstract: A one-piece adjustable air discharge register is of a generally clamshell-type of construction having a number of air-directing vanes formed integrally therein with the discharge register being adapted for pivotal mounting in an air discharge opening for adjustment of the flow of discharge air in a first adjustment direction. The discharge register also has a number of pivotally movable air-directing louvers formed integrally therein for adjustment of discharge airflow in a second adjustment direction transverse to, and independent of, the first adjustment direction. The one-piece discharge register includes an integral frame portion for supporting the movable louvers, with a number of sets of living hinges being integrally formed with the frame portion, the fixed vanes, and the movable louvers, in order to allow the register to be molded as a single, one-piece device and assembled in a simple one-step operation.

  • Patent number: 5393262
Abstract: An air-conditioning blow-out port device includes a housing of synthetic resin; a plurality of blades of synthetic resin each having a blade body disposed within the housing pairs of shaft bores provided in a coaxial arrangement in each pair in opposed portions of a peripheral wall of the housing; a pair of support shafts projectingly provided on opposite ends of the blade body and rotatably fitted in the shaft bores. A pivotal mounting portion is provided on each of the blades, and an interlocking link interlockingly connects the pivotal mounting portions of the blades. The pivotal mounting portion is comprised of a pivotal supporting shaft which is projectingly provided in parallel to the support shaft at an end of each blade body to extend through a pivotal supporting bore in the interlocking link, and a slip-off preventing projection provided at a tip end of the pivotal supporting shaft to engage an edge of the pivotal supporting bore.

  • Patent number: 5385031
Abstract: A rotational speed of a fan is maintained at a preset one when an angle of a flap is at a maximum air-flow angle, increased by a specified value when the angle of the flap has been changed by a specified angle in the direction away from the position of the maximum air-flow angle, and decreased by a specified value when the angle of the flap has been changed by a specified angle in the direction toward the position of the maximum air-flow angle. It is possible to prevent any occurrence of condensation and air-flow pulsating noise without needing any complex control such as load response control and yet without requiring any complicate construction in the flap.

  • Patent number: 5340357
Abstract: An air-conditioning blow-out port unit comprises a housing formed by a primary injection molding of synthetic resin and having a plurality of coaxially arranged shaft holes provided in opposed sidewalls, and a plurality of blades formed in the housing by a secondary injection molding of synthetic resin and each having a pair of support shafts projectingly provided at the opposite sides of a blade body and turnably fitted in each pair of the shaft holes. In this air-conditioning blow-out port unit, an extra shaft portion is consecutively formed on the support shaft to project outwardly from the housing with the same diameter as the support shaft, and a flange is formed between the support shaft and the blade body in an opposed relation to an inner surface of the housing. With this unit, a turning feeling of the blade can be stablized irrespective of thermal expansion and shrinkage of the housing and the blade.

  • Patent number: 5234373
Abstract: An air conditioner is provided with a room unit which comprises a suction grille member mounted to the front panel of the room unit and a blow-off grille member mounted to the lower portion of the front panel. The blow-off grille member comprises two louvers turnable around axes thereof parallel to each other, a link mechanism operatively connected to the louvers so as to turn the louvers with different angles, rspectively. The link mechanism comprises a plurality of link members, for example a five-knot link mechanism, which are turnably coupled with each other and a driving motor for driving the link mechanism to thereby turn the louvers with different air blow-off open angles, respectively. An operation mode transfer member may be further provided for the blow-off grille member to transfer the operation mode of the louvers.

  • Patent number: 5230655
Abstract: A plurality of adjustable louver assemblies are provided for a room air conditioner. Each louver assembly has a box-like housing which receives a plurality of horizontal and vertical louvers. Each set of horizontal and vertical louvers are linked so as to move in tandem An actuator wheel is rotatably attached to the housing and is engaged with one of the louvers of the upstream set of louvers such that rotation of the actuator will result in pivoting of the louvers. At least one of the sets of louvers is completely pivotable to a closed position so as to eject air more forcefully from the remaining open louver assemblies of the air conditioner.

  • Patent number: 5230654
Abstract: Each vertical vane contains two vane groups that are independently pivotable about their co-axis. A push button control mechanism selects between a jet setting in which both vane groups are parallel and a diffuse setting in which the two vane groups are non-parallel. The mechanism has a detent feature that keeps the diffuse setting until released.

  • Patent number: 5180333
Abstract: A ventilation device, which comprises a sensor unit, a fan and control units to control on/off operation and the strength, temperature, humidity and directions of the wind or discharged air. The device can be applied to air conditioners, and ventilators. The sensor unit, monitoring the location and existence of human bodies within the ventilating area, enables the fan and the control units to be on or off while sensing the first person who comes into the area or the last person who leaves the area; and to adjust the strength and directions of the wind based on the location of the human bodies. The sensor unit, furthermore, can follow a specific human body and actuate the control units to provide needed wind based on his/her requirement. When the fan stops operating, all the openings of the ventilation device will shut so that the dust cannot get into the ventilation device.
