Abstract: There is provided apparatus for propagation of a wireless signal through a barrier comprising a first antenna for location on a first side of the barrier, a second antenna for location on a second side of the barrier and a waveguide. The waveguide comprises a conducting member passing through the barrier between the first and second sides. The conducting member is held within an insulator sleeve such that it is spaced from a surrounding metal wall of the waveguide. A wireless signal received by the waveguide on the first side of the barrier is transmitted through the barrier by Transverse Electro-Magnetic (TEM) mode propagation along the waveguide is re-radiated on the second side.

Abstract: An encoder encodes sound data and the like to generate a binary signal. A mapper converts the binary signal into a four-level symbol and outputs the four-level symbol. A base band filter includes a root raised cosine filter and a sinc filter. The base band filter blocks a predetermined frequency component of a symbol to shape the symbol into a waveform signal and outputs the waveform signal shaped. An FM modulator transmits a signal subjected to FM modulation according to a magnitude of an amplitude of a waveform signal to a receiving unit. When a symbol of ±3 is outputted from the mapper, a frequency shift of a signal transmitted from the FM modulator has a predetermined value in a range of ±0.822[kHz] to ±0.952[kHz]. Various embodiments of the present invention involve the use of the HTTP/1.1 “chunked” mode to deliver updates of the file delivery table (FDT) of a session in a push-like mode. In order to allow for push delivery of the contents of a FLUTE session, each FDT instance is encoded as one part of a multipart MIME message and is sent as a separate chunk. The receiver can interpret each of the separate chunks to extract the FDT instance from the chunks. • Patent number: 7839270
Abstract: A vehicle monitoring system which may easily identify information transmitted from each of detecting devices without registration of identification information of the detecting devices and a transponder thereof are provided. A display is disposed in a distal end of the transponders all connected in series through a cable. Each of the detecting devices detects conditions in a predetermined portion of a vehicle and transmits vehicle information including measurement results, its own identification information and the number of transmissions. Each of the transponders determines whether the vehicle information transmitted from the detecting devices is received or not based on the identification information of the detecting devices registered in advance, and transmits the vehicle information to the transponder connected to the transmitting side or the display, when it determines that the vehicle information is to be received.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for multi-tasking in mobile terminal having multimedia processor for video-on-demand (VOD) services that identifies port of each data received during use of VOD service and processes data to enable user to implement any other network application program simultaneously with use of VOD service. Method provided includes setting port number for VOD services of multimedia processor and accessing VOD server when demand for VOD services is received, processing VOD data received through the set port number to deploy VOD services, determining whether port number of data received during VOD services is identical to the set port number. When the port number of the received data is identical to the set port number, recognizing received data as VOD data to deploy VOD services, when not, recognizing received data as general data and sending it to MSM from the multimedia processor, and processing general data sent to the MSM.

Abstract: A dynamic arrangement for reducing the presence of ingress noise in the upstream signal path of a two-way cable system utilizes a variable attenuation element and amplifier disposed along the upstream signal path. The amplifier includes a bypass switch so that the amplifier may be switched in to or out of the upstream path. A signal processor associated with the communications gateway functions to calculate the upstream loss present at the gateway and control the operation of the attenuation element, amplifier and bypass switch accordingly. Upstream attenuation is selected to be as large as possible, yet still allow in-building cable devices to communicate with their associated head end (HE) receiver equipment, after accounting for maximum transmit limitations.

  • Patent number: 7702033
Abstract: An encoder encodes sound data and the like to generate a binary signal. A mapper converts the binary signal into a four-level symbol and outputs the four-level symbol. A base band filter includes a root raised cosine filter and a sinc filter. The base band filter blocks a predetermined frequency component of a symbol to shape the symbol into a waveform signal and outputs the waveform signal shaped. An FM modulator transmits a signal subjected to FM modulation according to a magnitude of an amplitude of a waveform signal to a receiving unit. When a symbol of ±3 is outputted from the mapper, a frequency shift of a signal transmitted from the FM modulator has a predetermined value in a range of 0.822 [kHz] to 0.952 [kHz]. This makes it possible to provide a modulating apparatus, a mobile communication system, a modulating method, and a communication method that use a modulating method that can conform to the FCC rule to be enforced in 2005 without using a linear power amplifier.

  • Patent number: 7634250
Abstract: A signal conditioner (SC) and method for performing communications via a shared transport medium between a base transceiver station (BTS) and a remote antenna entity (RAE). A first SC is connected to the BTS and a second SC is connected to the RAE. Each SC interfaces to the transport medium. The first SC receives an RF signal representing a combined digital signal (CDS) from the BTS. The first SC recovers and conditions the CDS, and then transmits the conditioned CDS to the second SC via the transport medium. The second SC receives the conditioned CDS, recovers the CDS, produces an RF signal representing the CDS, and transmits this RF signal to the RAE. The RAE sends this RF signal to an antenna of the RAE for transmission of this RF signal via the antenna. First SC and second SC also facilitate communication of a CDS from RAE to BTS.
