Abstract: A method, system, media, and apparatus are directed to radio recording. Radio stations are simultaneously recorded based on a radio parameter including a processing parameter, a memory usage or allocation, a recording status, or the like. The radio parameter is adapted for an individual station, some radio stations, or all radio stations. The processing parameter is adapted based on a processor usage. The memory usage is adapted based on a memory requirement of a station being recorded. A station may be suspended from recording based on a loss of a signal and resumed based on a resumption of the signal. An access to a radio content recorded while a signal was available may be provided, if the signal is unavailable. The plurality of stations may be prioritized.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for conditioning low-magnitude events in electrical signals. According to an exemplary method, a low-magnitude event occurring in a signal trajectory of a received electrical signal is analyzed. The low-magnitude event is defined by a data point on a signal trajectory having a magnitude that is less than a predetermined signal magnitude minimum. A correction impulse having a correction magnitude and a correction phase is generated based on the magnitude and phase of data points on the signal trajectory that occur prior to and after the occurrence of the low magnitude event. The correction impulse is combined with the original electrical signal in the temporal vicinity of the low-magnitude event, thereby generating a corrected electrical signal having a more controlled bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 7444128
Abstract: A method of estimating the carrier frequency of a signal is disclosed. The method comprising the steps of initializing a time average vector to zero, selecting a user-selectable time segment to divide a received signal into. A signal is received, and divided into the user-selectable time segments. A spectral peak vector is calculated by performing a spectral estimation process on the user-selectable time segment divided signal. A first correlation vector is calculated on the spectral peak vector, and a second correlation vector is calculated from the spectral peak vector and the first correlation vector. The time average vector is appended with the result from the second correlation vector, and the process repeats for each time segment the received signal was broken into. The carrier is estimated using the most commonly occurring frequency in the time average vector.

  • Patent number: 7437134
Abstract: A tuner arrangement is provided comprising one or more tuners. Each tuner has two or more frequency changers, each comprising a mixer and a local oscillator. A controller controls the local oscillators in response to receipt of a channel select request. The controller determines the nominal frequencies of the local oscillators for tuning the selected channel and then performs a calculation to determine whether any beat frequencies between harmonics greater than the first harmonic of the local oscillators lie within the frequency band at the tuner output occupied by the selected channel. If so, the controller shifts the local oscillator frequencies so as to move the potentially interfering products outside the utilised band and then tunes the local oscillators appropriately.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a frequency-selective low noise amplifier (LNA) with wide-band impedance and noise matching. The LNAS may include a closed loop circuit that supports wideband input matching. For example, the closed loop circuit may be configure to impedance match an input signal and provide a low noise figure. In addition, the LNA may include an open loop circuit that amplifies the input signal and provides a high output impedance. The open loop circuit may further include a selectivity filter that filters out frequencies outside a desired frequency band. The LNA may drive a tunable band-pass filter via the open loop circuit.
