Abstract: Apparatus, methods and computer-readable storage media are provided for information management and display. In one embodiment, a method includes displaying, via a user interface of a communication device, a dynamically updatable wallpaper comprising a personalized theme personalized to a user of the communication device. The method also includes updating the dynamically updatable wallpaper to display one or more animated icons. Displaying the animated icons is based, at least, on detected activity of respective contacts associated with the one or more animated icons. In another embodiment, an apparatus comprises: a user interface component configured to display images indicative of contacts, wherein the plurality of contacts are predefined by a user of the apparatus. The apparatus also includes a messaging component configured to: integrate different types of text messages for one of the contacts; and provide concurrent display of the text messages and social media information for one of the contacts.

Abstract: A method of performing expedited communication functions on a mobile device includes monitoring the duration-of key press on a keyboard of the mobile device and determining if the monitored duration of the key press is greater than a threshold duration. If the monitored duration of the key press is determined to be less than a threshold duration, then a primary key function associated with the pressed key is activated. If the monitored duration of the key press is determined to be greater than a threshold duration, then an expedited communication function associated with the pressed key is activated.

Abstract: A portable radiotelephone can be shifted between a first condition wherein the radiotelephone does not receive or transmit voice communications by radiotelephone transmissions over radiotelephone channels and a second condition wherein the radiotelephone receives and transmits voice communications by radiotelephone transmissions over radiotelephone channels. The radiotelephone automatically calls a central voice-activated phone dialing system remote from the portable radiotelephone in response to producing the second condition in the radiotelephone. The radiotelephone includes a switch for producing the first and second conditions.

Abstract: A method of automatically connecting to a peripheral Bluetooth device and service in a mobile communication terminal having a Bluetooth module is provided. Upon input of a key, it is determined whether the key includes a Bluetooth mode key. If the key includes the Bluetooth mode key, the terminal transitions to a Bluetooth mode. A Bluetooth device or service corresponding to the key as a short key is detected and connected.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing confirmed OTA terminal configuration includes a processing element configured to communicate configuration data to a mobile terminal. The processing element is also configured to initiate a confirmation sequence to confirm proper receipt of the configuration data at the mobile terminal, and to receive information indicating whether the configuration data was properly received at the mobile terminal.

Abstract: The embodiments of this invention provide a speed dial method for a touch screen mobile phone. The touch screen mobile phone uses a lock screen interface and displays a floating window on top of the windows of the lock screen interface. The speed dial method includes real-time monitoring of the lock screen interface and acquisition of a click event. When the click event is a speed dial event, a phone number corresponding to the click event may be acquired at the floating window. Dial the phone number may establish a link between an opposite peer using the phone number and the user. The embodiments of this invention also provide a speed dial device for a touch screen mobile phone. The speed dial device may include: a click event acquisition module, a telephone number acquisition module, and a link establishment module. This invention enables phone calls to be made when the touch screen mobile phone is in a lock screen mode without having to unlock the screen.

Abstract: A method for setting a voice tag is provided, which comprises the following steps. First, counting a number of phone calls performed between a user and a contact person. If the number of phone calls exceeds a predetermined times or a voice dialing performed by the user is failed before calling to the contact person within a predetermined duration, the user is inquired whether or not to set a voice tag corresponding to the contact person after the phone call is complete. If the user decides to set the voice tag, a voice training procedure is executed for setting the voice tag corresponding to the contact person.

Abstract: A communication device that communicates via a base station through a radio link that includes: a display that displays an inquiry from a plurality of inquiries, a first input, which upon being activated, indicates an agreement in response to the inquiry, a second input, which upon being activated, indicates a disagreement in response to the inquiry, an emergency input, which upon being activated, indicates an emergency situation, a controller that selects and dials the phone number corresponding to the contact name from a plurality of phone numbers corresponding to a plurality of contact names based on the indicated agreement, the indicated disagreement, and the indicated emergency situation, such that the agreement and the disagreement with each inquiry of the plurality of inquiries guides the controller in selecting and dialing the phone number corresponding to the contact name from the plurality of phone numbers.

A method of processing contact information of a portable terminal includes analyzing a schedule by analyzing contact information included in schedule information, re-arranging a subscriber display point of the contact list according to contact information included in the schedule information and displaying the contact list, and forming a communication link with a subscriber selected in the contact list and executing a contact. A schedule check and management operation of the portable terminal can be conveniently processed by only executing the contact application in which subscriber information is displayed with a list.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for searching and processing contacts. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a mobile communication device has a transceiver, and a controller for controlling operations thereof. The controller is programmed to receive from an end user of the mobile communication device a request for a contact, and search for the contact in a phonebook of the mobile communication device. The controller is programmed to replace the caller identification of the mobile communication device with a corresponding caller identification that emulates the enterprise identification as if the mobile originated call originated from within the enterprise when the mobile communication device is not located within a vicinity of the enterprise. Additional embodiments are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for speed dialing in a mobile communication system are provided. In the method, a speed dial code is input and transmitted to a SIM card. A dialing number corresponding to the speed dial code is detected from the SIM card. The detected dialing number is transmitted to a User Equipment (UE) through a mechanism of Call Control by SIM.

Abstract: A quick communication method and device, and a storage medium are disclosed in the in present disclosure which belongs to the field of mobile communication. The method includes: displaying a quick communication key on the lock screen interface of a terminal; invoking a shortcut panel according to an operation triggered by a user on the quick communication key, and the shortcut panel includes contact information of a part or all of the contact objects from the contact list in the terminal; receiving a contact object selected by the user, and communicating with the contact object; and the device includes: a display module, an invoking module, and a communicating module. Quick communication with a contact object can be implemented by the present invention through the quick communication key on the lock screen interface of the terminal to improve the efficiency of terminal communication.

Abstract: Web content is formatted to show an icon adjacent identified phone numbers to enable select-to-call, e.g., click-to-call functionality from within a web platform. The select-to call functionality can enable the user's web platform context to be maintained during the call. In some instances, details associated with the phone number that is called using the select-to call functionality can be retrieved from a database and surfaced to the user, by way of the web platform, to enrich the user's call experience.

The portable terminal includes a controller that processes a phone number of a combination of letters and numbers. The controller can identify whether the input phone number contains letters. When the input phone number contains letters, the controller refers to a table for converting letters to numbers and converts the alpha-numeric phone number into a numeric phone number by converting the identified letters into corresponding numbers.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an easy-to-use and inexpensive personal emergency response system which allows elderly people to summon help should they need it. The system does not require a central monitoring service and hence there is no special monthly monitoring fee. The system also contains all of the information it needs to summon aid and communicate with a standard, unmodified, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) telephone or other communication device; this further reduces cost and complexity. The system also allows two-way voice communications between the user and the responsible party that has been notified in the event of an emergency.
