Abstract: The present invention relates to simulation on a lab workbench of conditions that would be encountered by a mobile device during a so-called drive test, which involves transporting the mobile device along a course so that it encounters fading and changing wireless access points used normally to connect the mobile device to a wireless network but in this case used to locate the device. The instrument and method also support parametric testing of transceivers used for WiFi positioning and, optionally, GNSS positioning by the same mobile device used for WiFi positioning.

Abstract: A method includes identifying an amount of time that a wireless device has or does not have redundant connectivity in a wireless network during a specified time period. The method also includes identifying a redundant wireless connection availability of the wireless device during the specified time period. Identifying the amount of time that the wireless device has or does not have redundant connectivity could include identifying connection events associated with the wireless device. The connection events can include events in which a wireless connection with the wireless device is formed and events in which a wireless connection with the wireless device is dropped. Time periods during which multiple wireless connections with the wireless device exist or do not exist can be identified. Identifying the redundant wireless connection availability could include identifying a percentage of the specified time period during which multiple wireless connections with the wireless device exist.

Abstract: A device is provided that analyzes one or more signal metrics to generate a signal measurement. The signal measurement is utilized to indicate whether or not a particular location of the device is suitable for receiving streamed content. A communication module of the device may receive one or more signals from an identified network device. At least one signal metric may be used to generate a signal measurement that may be indicated on an interface component. A recommendation to move the device to a different location may be generated based on the signal measurement. Subsequent to moving the device, a second signal measurement may be determined and indicated on the interface component.

Abstract: A device-vehicle interoperability verification method is disclosed herein. Vehicle information is obtained by a mobile communications device, and this vehicle information pertains to a vehicle within which the device is being used or is going to be used. The vehicle information and device identification information is transmitted from the device to a server. The transmission occurs in response to a command generated by an application resident on the device, which includes computer readable code, embedded on a tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium, for performing the transmission. A data aggregator at the server queries a database to obtain data pertaining to an interoperability between the device and the vehicle, and a communications module at the server sends a message to the device that includes at least the data pertaining to the interoperability between the device and the vehicle.

Abstract: A hybrid FDM/TDM solution for in-device coexistence interference avoidance is proposed. A user equipment (UE) comprises a first radio transceiver and a second co-located radio transceiver. The UE detects coexistence interference between the two radios based on radio signal measurement. The UE sends an IDC interference indicator to its serving base station (eNB). The UE also reports IDC information including recommendation for FDM and TDM configurations to the eNB. The eNB receives the IDC interference indicator and evaluates whether to trigger FDM-based solution to mitigate the coexistence interference. The eNB also evaluates whether to trigger TDM-based solution to mitigate coexistence interference. The evaluation is based on the recommended FDM and TDM configurations. The eNB may trigger FDM-based solution, TDM-based solution, or FDM and TDM solution based on the evaluation results of the feasibility and effectiveness of each solution.
