  • Patent number: 10492353
Abstract: A method for reducing material accumulation relative to ground-engaging tools of a tillage implement may include monitoring, with a computing device, an accumulation parameter as a tillage operation is being performed, wherein the accumulation parameter provides an indication of material accumulation relative to a plurality of ground-engaging tools of the tillage implement. The method may also include comparing, with the computing device, the accumulation parameter to a material accumulation threshold, wherein the material accumulation threshold is indicative of a given degree of material accumulation relative to the plurality ground-engaging tools.

  • Patent number: 8858310
Abstract: An auger assembly for a combine harvester includes an auger trough having side walls with a length so as to extend laterally between opposed side sheets. Guide tracks are configured along bottom edges of the side walls. A flexible bottom cover member is slidably engaged within the guide tracks. The cover member is removably attached to the side walls by being slid into and out of the guide tracks from a longitudinal end of the side walls outboard of the side sheets for an auger clean-out procedure.

  • Patent number: 7585213
Abstract: An auger trough and associated clean-out door construction of a clean grain and tailings conveying system for an agricultural combine, such construction including a pair of spaced, depending auger trough side walls that extend laterally across a combine between opposed sidesheets, with a removable door panel positionable across the combine between the opposed sidesheets and between said auger trough side walls to form an auger trough base, which door panel is configured to be so engageable with the auger trough side walls to substantially close the bottom of the auger trough and whose opposite ends are configured to be complementarily engageable with engagement features associated with the sidesheets to maintain such door panel in place during harvesting operations and, with such auger trough side walls, to define a generally rigid trough between the opposed sidesheets.

  • Patent number: 6835130
Abstract: A cleanout configuration is provided for a grain compartment on a harvesting apparatus. The grain compartment has walls that form a trough, and a vertically arranged auger that is supported on an auger casting located in a sump at a bottom of the trough. Wall portions, in the form of a unitary casting with the auger casting are adjacent to the auger casting and comprise cleanout openings covered by removable covers. The openings are in a grate pattern. The unitary casting can be a bridge member, which supports all, or a substantial amount of the weight of the unitary casting and the auger.

  • Patent number: 6800025
Abstract: A pressurized air cleaning system is provided for a harvesting apparatus having a grain tank for holding harvested crop. The cleaning system can include an air manifold and tubing network for receiving pressurized air and distributing the pressurized air to an outlet port near to the grain tank of the harvesting apparatus. The outlet port is located and configured for connecting a short portable air cleaning hose and wand to be wielded by an operator to clean the grain tank. The air manifold and tubing network can also include an outlet port near to the header, and/or next to the straw chopper, both accessible from grade level. The cleaning system can include air cleaning nozzles, fixed in position on the harvesting apparatus and connected to the network, the nozzles directing air streams onto hard-to-access areas of the harvesting apparatus. The nozzles can be located inside the grain compartment along the horizontal augers and in the unloader tube.

  • Patent number: 6743093
Abstract: An auxiliary rotary drive for at least one auger that in normal operation is rotatable to transport grain from a grain tank of a harvesting apparatus. The auxiliary rotary drive is configured to rotate the at least one auger during cleanout to assist air nozzles or other means to remove residual grain or residue from the harvesting apparatus. The auxiliary rotary drive can be arranged to transfer power to the auger via a clutch arrangement arranged between the auxiliary rotary drive and the auger. The auxiliary rotary drive turns the auger at a speed slower than a normal operating speed of the auger.

  • Patent number: 5372546
Abstract: A sugar beet harvestor having a grab roller assembly is equipped with a cleaner for removing mud and debris from the rollers of the grab roller assembly. The cleaner has a pair of rails that movably support a traveler. Downwardly directed blades attached to the traveler have lower ends located in close proximity to the rollers of the grab roller assembly. A reversible power driven drive operates to reciprocate the traveler along the rails thereby moving the blades relative to the outer surfaces of the rollers so that mud and debris on the rollers are removed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5088960
Abstract: An agricultural combine having a pair of side-by-side axial separators. Each of the axial separators comprises a cylindrical tube, a rotor housed in the tube, an inlet and an outlet. An axial air stream is directed along the top of the axial separator to remove dust, chaff and other debris that may accumulate there. The air stream is intercepted from the cooling fan of an internal combustion engine by duct work that directs the air stream to a deflector located above the axial separators. The deflector forms a forward axial air stream component and a rearward axial air stream component. Exhaust openings are formed in the sidewalls of the combine to vent the forward air stream component. An exhaust gap is formed at the rear of the axial separator to vent the rearward air stream component.
