Abstract: A tubular for processing crops can include a body having an outer surface and protrusions extending outwardly from the outer surface. The protrusions can be arranged in bands that are spaced apart along the outer surface to define gaps therebetween that form grooves extending around a circumference of the body. Each band of protrusions can be positioned offset with respect to at least one adjacent band of protrusions such that the protrusions form a spiraling configuration around a longitudinal axis of the body.

Abstract: A farm implement for harvesting corn (sometimes called maize). The harvester is usable with a farm type combine and is particularly designed to be used in fields that have been planted either by a broadcast method at ground level or from the air, or in clearly spaced rows at spacings which might vary from the usual. The harvester is distinguished by the ear-stripping fingers on a reel at the front of the carrying combine. The fingers strip the ears from the corn stalks in front of the carrying combine and carry them to a delivery auger, which is a standard part of the combine, to be delivered to husking rolls in the combine for husking.

Abstract: A stalk roll comprises a cylindrical shell having six integral flutes. Each flute is provided with a knife edge having a leading surface and a trailing surface. The leading surface has a forward slope of approximately 10.degree. from the plane formed by the central longitudinal axis of the cylindrical shell and the vertex of the respective knife edge. The trailing surface has a reverse slope of approximately 30.degree. from the plane formed by the central longitudinal axis of the cylindrical shell and the vertex of the respective knife edge. The cylindrical shell comprises two semi-cylindrical pieces that are clamped about a drive shaft of a corn harvesting head by associated bolts.
