Patent number: 7682235Abstract: A threshing device for harvesting machines having a cut front header for cutting plants to be harvested. The threshing device includes a feeder rotor, at least two threshing rotors, and a grille located underneath of the threshing rotors. The threshing rotors are placed adjacent to each other and only one is located adjacent to the feeder rotor. The feeder rotor feeds the plants to the threshing rotor nearest the feeder rotor. The grille runs continuously through all the threshing rotors and includes a plurality of waves parallel to each other and defining peaks and valleys. The valleys match the peaks of the adjacent waves. On each valley the corresponding threshing wheel is located.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2006Date of Patent: March 23, 2010Inventor: Omar Ruben Ferraris

Patent number: 6958012Abstract: A concave arrangement is disclosed for a threshing machine such as a combine harvester 10. The arrangement includes a concave 30 having a moveable rear portion 48 that is adapted to vary the break-over angle presented to straw passing downstream. A flap member 54 is provided that moves jointly with the moveable rear portion 48 and ensures that a gap G between the moveable portion 48 and a later processing stage such as a beater apparatus is kept substantially closed. Variation of the break-over angle influences the length of the straw leaving the threshing machine and the loading of the further separation and cleaning mechanisms.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2003Date of Patent: October 25, 2005Assignee: CNH America LLCInventors: Frank R. Patent number: 5743795Abstract: A harvester thresher has two threshing mechanisms which are located directly one behind the other and each have a threshing drum and a threshing basking. The threshing baskets are jointly adjustable so that the basket of the first threshing mechanism is adjustable parallel to itself and by its adjustment the basket of the second threshing mechanism is turnable about an axle provided at the end of the second basket which is spaced from the basket of the first threshing mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1996Date of Patent: April 28, 1998Assignee: CLAAS KGaAInventor: Hermann Kersting

Patent number: 5205114Abstract: A peanut combine having a header for lifting peanut laden vines off the ground, an auger for distributing the peanut laden vines, a series of picking or thrashing cylinders for thrashing the peanut laden vines and a series of separator cylinders for removing the peanuts from the peanut laden vines. The separator cylinders include fingers which propel the vines and which rotate at a variable flailing speed. The fingers include tips which vary in angle with respect to the path which the fingers define as they rotate on the separator cylinders.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1992Date of Patent: April 27, 1993Inventor: Oliver K. Hobbs

Patent number: 5190497Abstract: A self-propelling harvester thresher has two threshing mechanisms located one after the other in a direction which is transverse to a transporting direction and each having a threshing drum and a threshing basket. The threshing mechanism operate in accordance with the principle of a tangential flow and both drums of the thresing mechanisms rotate in the same direction. The threshing basket and the threshing drum of the first threshing mechanism and the threshing basket and the threshing drum of the second threshing mechanism are arranged with a gap relative to one another which gap is adjustable. The threshing drum of one of the threshing mechanisms which is the first threshing mechanism as considered in a working direction has a circumferential speed which is smaller than the circumferential speed of threshing drum of the other of the threshing mechanisms which is a second threshing mechanism as considered in the working direction.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1991Date of Patent: March 2, 1993Assignee: Claas OhgInventor: Franz Heidjann

Patent number: 5052976Abstract: The invention relates to a threshing device for pulse crops, said threshing device being provided with a drum rotatable about its at least substantially horizontally arranged axis of rotation, the surface of said drum being provided with openings. In the interior of the drum there is arranged a main threshing means, which is rotatable about its axis of rotation extending at least substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum, in such a manner that during operation parts of the main threshing means located near the drum surface of the drum move in the same direction as the adjacent part of the drum surface. The main threshing means is furthermore provided with projecting parts which, besides imparting a component of movement of the crop directed towards the interior surface of the drum, also impart a component of movement to the crop in the longitudinal direction of the drum.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1990Date of Patent: October 1, 1991Assignee: Mali-Ploeger B.V.Inventor: Anton M. van de Brand

Patent number: 5026322Abstract: The device has a first threshing rotor bearing a first number of radial blades, and a second counter-rotating loading rotor having a different number of radial blades. The rotors are arranged side by side and adapted to be driven in phase at different speeds. A fan generates a flow of air at a region of alignment of the radial blades of the first and second rotors, and the first rotor has a rear outlet for threshed leaves.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1990Date of Patent: June 25, 1991Assignee: SEV S.r.l.Inventor: Aldo Tognana

Patent number: 4915671Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for threshing seed crop, such as wheat, barley, rice, corn, beans and many others, by moving the seed crop circumferentially through a trough-shaped screen with openings through which the kernels can pass. A rotatable hub and a multiplicity of tines which project generally radially therefrom are coaxially rotatable relative to the screen. The hub and the tines are rotated so that the free tine ends, which are spaced from the screen, move past the screen at a speed approximately equal to the speed of the apparatus through the seed crop field. The hub and tines are vibrated to superimpose on their rotational movement a multiplicity of cyclical accelerations and decelerations as the seed crop moves from one side of the screen to the other to thereby separate the kernels from the plant growth.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1988Date of Patent: April 10, 1990Assignee: Johnson Farm Machinery Co., Inc.Inventor: Howard B.
