Double Strung (i.e., Having Striking Faces Formed From Two Spaced-apart, Planar Sets Of Strings) Patents (Class 473/533)
  • Publication number: 20040209715
Abstract: The present invention relates to a racket being improved elastic and repellent force including an elliptical head frame, a net unit installed along the inner surface of the head frame, a neck unit formed in the long axis direction of the head frame, a handle unit extended from the neck unit, and oblique grooves being consecutively formed along the \outer circumference of the head frame so that strings extended from the net unit can be wound on the head frame. Because the tension is improved in string, the strings crossing each other in the net unit can maintain a predetermined interval to improve the elastic and repellent force, and users can enjoy ball games without correcting the strings.

  • Patent number: 6254499
Abstract: A tennis racquet with a holeless oval frame head with front and back faces provided with a continuous outside groove and with spaced-apart recessed transverse cuts in each face occupied by a portion of a continuous string. The edge groove is interconnected with the transverse cuts and a continuous grommet is insertably received in the outside edge groove and is secured in place. The grommet has spaced-apart slots in co-extensive alignment with an edge marginal groove having a plurality of spaced apart projections which include an undercut channel conformal with the curvature of the string. A double stringed bed is provided with the string trained about both faces of the head in a recessed position so that the strings of the bed are substantially coplanar across the bed surfaces and slightly above the front and back faces of the frame head.

  • Patent number: 5743822
Abstract: A tennis racquet for employment during the game of tennis by enhancing a player's ability to produce spin and drop shots which includes a holeless oval frame head having front and back faces provided with spaced-apart grooves and having a continuous side groove about the outside side of the frame. The outside peripheral edge further includes connecting grooves or slots that join the terminating ends of the front and back face grooves. The face grooves, the side connected grooves or slots and the edge groove define a series of projections about which a racquet string is trained so as to crisscross over the central opening of the oval frame. The grooves and slots are of sufficient depth to support the string so as to appear above the surfaces of the frame. The projections defining the continuous edge groove include an arcuate channel mateable with the curvature of the string as the string bears against the projection.
