With Frame Or Mount For System Patents (Class 474/150)
  • Patent number: 4666187
Abstract: In a device for connecting and disconnecting hoses or pipes to and from difficultly accessible structures such as under water, it is aimed at providing a reliable device, which will be easy to operate, lends itself to repeated connecting and disconnecting of the hoses or pipes, also if necessary by remote control, and which is to a considerable extent selfcleaning. To this end the device has a movable supporting structure for carrying the hose or tube by engaging a freely rotatable end part thereon and an endless chain slung around a driving pinion and around two other chain pinions in the device, which latter pinions are positioned one to each side of the hose or pipe, are movable towards and away therefrom and are urged away therefrom. The chain is slung around part of the periphery of said part to engage a gear ring thereon with its run between the said two other chain pinions.

  • Patent number: 4631977
Abstract: Power transmission of the belt type which includes a transmission casing made up of a case and a cover. A drive shaft and a driven shaft each extend into the case. A drive pulley is mounted on the drive shaft and a driven pulley is mounted on the driven shaft. A belt extends over both the drive pulley and the driven pulley. A fan is mounted on at least one of the shafts. A partition plate extends the length of the casing dividing the casing into a case side compartment and a cover side compartment. The belt and the fan are positioned in the cover side compartment. The fan can be formed on an outer side of one of the pulleys including radially outwardly extending fins and side fins extending axially integrally from the radial fins. Air passages are formed between any two fins and between each side fin and the outer side of the pulley. All of the side fins together can form an annular disc.

  • Patent number: 4545192
Abstract: A yarn false twisting apparatus is disclosed which comprises a pair of rotating circular discs having cooperating friction surfaces for engaging a running yarn at a twisting zone. The drive system for the discs includes a drive component which includes a drive whorl and a coaxial drive pulley, and which is adapted to engage two separate drive belts. The drive component includes a unitary tubular drive member, a central shaft extending through and fixed to the drive member, a sleeve mounted to the frame of the apparatus and extending between the shaft and drive member, and bearings positioned between the shaft and sleeve. Also, the drive component is mounted to the frame by an arrangement which permits adjustment of the rotational axis of the drive whorl about a second axis which perpendicularly intersects the rotational axis, so as to permit accurate alignment of the rotational axis of the whorl along a direction perpendicular to the running direction of the tangential drive belt.

  • Patent number: 4508523
Abstract: The stationary drive station comprises a gear chain guided over three sprocket wheels. One sprocket wheel is driven by a drive motor. A tensioning wheel is rotatably journaled at a pivotably mounted lever acted upon by a tension spring. The tensioning wheel acts on the outer side of the gear chain and on the idle run thereof. The driving run of the gear chain extends at its outer side around part of the circumference of a further sprocket wheel. This further sprocket wheel is seated on a shaft carrying a winding core for winding-up printed products and other flat products. The shaft is journaled in a mobile frame which may be removed from the drive station. The driving connection between the gear chain and the further sprocket wheel can be released by upwardly pivoting a holding or holder structure about the axis of the one sprocket wheel driving the gear chain. The two remaining gear chain-sprocket wheels of the aforementioned three sprocket wheels are rotatably journaled at the holding structure.

  • Patent number: 4493677
Abstract: A cooling fan is provided on at least one of the drive pulley and the driven pulley on which the drive belt is wound. A substantially closed casing in which the pulleys and the belt are accommodated has its interior partitioned in two chambers. With rotation of the fan, the air inside the casing is circulated within the casing where one of the chambers acts as a going passage and the other as a return passage, respectively, to thereby cool the pulleys and the belt. The two chambers are communicated with each other by communication means which are arranged at the pulleys and adapted to allow smooth movement of the air through the pulleys. Further provided are means for enhancing the efficiency of cooling the driven pulley by the circulating air and means for radiating heat generated within the casing through the casing walls.

  • Patent number: 4353445
Abstract: A toothed belt drive transmission for pumping units in the oil field which includes a frame and base fitted with a drive pulley on a drive shaft, intermediate and crank shafts, and tandem-mounted belt sprockets with cooperating toothed belts for transmitting power from a drive source to the walking beam of a pumping unit. A conventional drive pulley is carried by a drive shaft rotatably mounted on the pumping unit frame and driven by a motive force by means of one or more V-belts. A drive belt sprocket is also mounted on the drive shaft above and in alignment with an intermediate-to-drive belt sprocket which is mounted on an intermediate shaft, and cooperates in rotation with the drive belt sprocket by means of a first toothed belt. The intermediate shaft is journalled for rotation in the frame and carries an intermediate-to-crank belt sprocket which is aligned with a crank belt sprocket of larger diameter than the intermediate-to-crank belt sprocket, and is rotatably mounted on a third shaft.
