Abstract: A drive assembly for a closed loop cable system in which a flexible driver member drives a door or the like back and forth has the flexible drive member wrapped around and driven by a drive pulley. The drive assembly includes a motor unit having a motor shaft that rotates about a drive axis for rotating the drive pulley about a pulley axis, and a tensioning mechanism for adjusting the position of the pulley axis with respect to the drive axis responsive to tension in the flexible drive member.
Abstract: A drive mechanism includes a drive shaft and a sprocket drive assembly. The sprocket drive assembly includes a hub mechanically coupled to the drive shaft, a first side support secured to the hub, a second side support secured to the hub, and a plurality of engagement members each interposed between the first side support and the second side support. Each of the plurality of engagement members is rotatably secured to each of the first side support and the second side support. The drive mechanism further includes a track assembly which has a plurality of shoes which are secured to one another to form a track, and a plurality of drive lugs which are mounted to the plurality of shoes. Each of the plurality of drive lugs has a first grasping notch and a second grasping notch defined therein. The plurality of drive lugs includes a first drive lug and a second drive lug which are adjacent to each other.

Abstract: In a drive sprocket of a passenger conveyer, such as an escalator, having a step chain, the sprocket is provided with an overlay attached to the side of the drive sprocket. The overlay cushions the chain as it engages the drive sprocket teeth to thereby minimize the noise generated by the engagement of the drive sprocket and the step chain. In a particular embodiment, a drive sprocket further includes a plate that provides lateral support of the overlay during engagement with the step chain.
Abstract: A conveyor system having transfer rollers for transferring articles from a conveyor to a branch conveyor having a plurality of rotatable branch sheaves. The conveyor having a plurality of carrier rollers rotatably connected to a pair of support members and a conveyor drive cable mechanically communicating with the branch conveyor. The conveyor including a plurality of idle sheaves rotatably connected to the support members and the carrier rollers and an endless cable positioned over the idle sheaves and branch sheaves and engaged to a cable drive.
