Abstract: A gear train of an automatic transmission for vehicles realizes at least eight forward speeds and two reverse speeds by combining three simple planetary gear sets with four clutches and two brakes. In addition, two friction elements are operated at each shift-speed. Therefore, the gear train has advantages of simplifying structures of the automatic transmission and improving power delivery performance and fuel economy.

  • Publication number: 20110190093
Abstract: The “Forced Way” method is a unique method of generating variable ratio outputs from a given input of constant rotational speed by forcing one end of a drive shaft to follow a continuous path (way) around a given circle at a constant speed that can then be deformed into curves of varying radiuses that would range from the radius of the given circle to that of the various radiuses (arcs) of various ovals to a final shape of an oblong. Forcing the end of the drive shaft to follow these shapes would result in the drive shaft rotating at different rotational speeds as it transverses the shape. By sampling only the rotational output while moving over the desired portion of the shape one can control the output's rotational speed which will be some ratio of the input. The “Forced Way” method is the only method of continuously varying an output that is robust enough to be used in any vehicle with NO possibility of slipping.

Abstract: The invention concerns a multiple ratio transmission device with permanent meshing, in particular for making a gearbox capable of providing gear shifts without interrupting the power transmission, for example an automatic control or sequential control gearbox. Said device comprises three coaxial planetary trains using selective coupling means so that each provides local direct drive or at least one transmission ratio. According to the invention, said device comprises two coaxial planetary trains (TP1, TP2) belonging to two different power paths (8a and 8b) between an upstream rotary member and a downstream rotary member. Said device comprises two gear-type transfer elements (TR1, TR2) of different ratios, interposed between one of the rotary members and one of said planetary trains (TP1, TP2).

Abstract: A switchable rotation drive device has a switching mechanism wherein a first connecting sleeve that always rotates integrally with a motor hollow rotor, and a second connecting sleeve that always rotates integrally with a planetary carrier of a planetary gear reduction mechanism are connected via a bearing in a relatively rotatable state, and the first connecting sleeve is formed with a sun gear. By sliding the switching mechanism, the output shaft can be switched between high-speed rotation and low-speed rotation. In comparison to a case in which the entirety of the planetary gear reduction mechanism is made to slide, the sliding region may be smaller, and the required space needed to allow sliding may also be smaller. Therefore, it is advantageous to reduce the size of the device and make it more compact.
