    Abstract: A drilling machine drills foundation holes known as drilled shafts or bored piles with a drilling tool attached to an end of a kelly. The kelly is rotated with a rotary drive. A second motor is coupled to the ring gear on the planetary gear set. A clutch can also be connected to the ring gear. The rotary drive allows the drilling tool to be rotated at low drilling speeds and, without stopping rotation or shifting gears, removed from the hole and accelerated to high speeds to discharge spoil. A mid-range is also possible, wherein the drilling tool can process fluids in the hole. Another motor and planetary gear set can be coupled to the final drive gear and to the second motor.

In a low rotational speed region of the engine, oil is supplied by both the main oil pump and the subsidiary oil pump, whereas in a high rotational speed region of the engine, oil is supplied by only the main oil pump.

First gearing and a first clutch are connected between the motor shafts and a brake connected to the ring gear is actuatable to arrest same. A second clutch is connected between the second motor shaft and the ring gear. In a first range the first clutch is closed, the second clutch is opened, and the brake is actuated to drive the sun gear with both shafts with the ring gear stopped. In a second range the first clutch is opened, the second clutch is closed, and the brake is released to drive the sun gear with the one shaft and the ring gear with the other shaft.

A sensing means is provided for sensing a rotation speed of a rear propeller shaft and to output predetermined amounts of pressurized working fluid in response to the rotation speed of the rear propeller shaft. A first flow control valve provided on an oil path system is controlled by the pressurized working fluid to be closed to various extents so as to reduce the flow within the oil path system. The rotation speed of at least one braking pump together with each braking member is also reduced, on extreme conditions the pumps even stop.
