Constant Speed Output Patents (Class 475/77)
  • Patent number: 10763722
Abstract: A terminal block for use in an integrated drive generator has a body having an outer support surface and extending to an inner surface. There are four connection channels for supporting electric connections for each of three phases of power and a neutral. There are fingers formed between adjacent ones of each of the four connection channels, with the fingers extending away from the support surface in a direction away from the inner surface. An integrated drive generator and a method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9121476
Abstract: A transmission for providing mechanical power from an input includes a transmission assembly having an arm configured and adapted to be connected to a mechanical input for rotation at an input speed. A first planet is rotatably mounted to a first end of the arm. A trim ring operatively contacts the first planet for mutual rotation therewith. A brake is operatively connected to the trim ring for controlling rotation of the trim ring. A second planet is rotatably mounted to a second end of the arm. The second planet operatively contacts the first planet for mutual rotation therewith. An output ring operatively contacts the second planet for mutual rotation therewith to rotate at an output speed based on an input speed of the arm and a trim speed of the trim ring.

  • Patent number: 9091267
Abstract: A controller for varying flow rate of a fluid from a fixed displacement pump is provided. The controller includes a pump speed control gear set, a ratio control pump, and a relief valve. The pump speed control gear set includes a sun gear configured to be driven by a prime mover, a planet carrier including one or more planet gears meshed with the sun gear, and a ring gear meshed with the planet gears. The ring gear is configured to connect to an input shaft of the fixed displacement pump. The ratio control pump includes a stationary body, and a rotor coupled to the planet carrier of the pump speed control gear set. The rotor is configured to co-act with the body to pump fluid. The relief valve is connected to the ratio control pump and configured to restrict fluid egress from the ratio control pump.

  • Patent number: 8790206
Abstract: A constant speed drive includes one or more speed summing differentials operably connected to a base shaft and a machine shaft. A primary variator is operably connected to the one or more speed summing differentials to produce a selected constant rotational speed at the machine shaft across a range of engine speeds at the base shaft. An operating range adjustment element is operably connected to the one or more speed summing differentials to adjust a range of engine speeds at which the constant speed drive can output the selected constant rotational speed at the machine shaft.

  • Patent number: 6692395
Abstract: A PTO transmission includes a split power transmission unit having an output member connected to a PTO shaft, a first input connected to an engine output shaft and a second input connected the output of a variable speed drive unit. A control unit controls the speed of the variable speed drive unit as a function of sensed engine speed and maintains the PTO shaft at a constant speed. The split power transmission is preferably a planetary gear unit. The variable speed drive unit preferably includes a variable displacement hydrostatic pump driving a fixed displacement hydrostatic motor which drives a sun gear of the planetary gear unit. This system transmits power to the PTO shaft from both the engine and from the variable speed drive unit. The control unit may also control the variable speed drive unit so that the speed of the PTO shaft is maintained at a desired ratio with respect to the ground speed, or so that the speed of the PTO shaft is maintained at a speed set by an operator.

  • Patent number: 6527660
Abstract: A transmission for coupling a variable speed engine to a dynamoelectric machine that has three hydraulic units coupled to a mechanical summer, wherein two of the hydraulic units are varied in displacement to control the speed of the third in order to keep the speed of the dynamoelectric machine constant regardless of engine speed.
