Abstract: A martial arts striking device and method of use that overcomes the relatively hard force impact and resistance disadvantages of all prior striking devices for martial arts, boxing, and physical fitness by allowing visibly targeted “non-force impact” (meaning relatively less forceful impact) striking at relatively “non-resistant contact” targets to enhance speed and power while using less effort. Said striking targets can be substantial in size and made of a lightweight flexible material or fabric that reacts with a spontaneous refresh rate when struck, thereby simulating a live opponent. Said striking targets can be easily suspended from a variety of existing structures or specially produced frames and supports to form familiar punching bag shapes, enclosures, or to simulate being surrounded by multiple opponents. In contrast to prior art objects, said striking device is light in weight, easier to mount, noiseless when used, and suitable for safe home use.

Abstract: Several embodiments of martial arts practice assemblies are described involving variations spanning from apparatus permitting movement along a single translational axis and about a single rotational axis to an embodiment mounted on a robotic arm enabling translation in all three axial directions and about all three rotational axes. A dual-lockout circuit requiring simultaneous activation by an operator and a user is used to activate the pneumatic system powering the assembly.

Abstract: A strike pod for use with an interactive recreational system includes a vibration conducting base, coupleable to a support frame of the interactive recreational system and being suitable to conduct vibration from one area of the pod to another. A strike receiving shell is disposed adjacent the vibration conducting base to receive a blow delivered by a participant. The strike receiving shell is formed of a material more pliable than the vibration conducting base. A vibrational transducer is in operable communication with the vibration conducting base to detect vibration in the vibration conducting base caused by the blow delivered by the participant to the strike receiving shell.

Abstract: A kung fu training device of the present invention mainly includes a base portion, a body portion and two arms. The body portion is disposed on the base portion. The body portion includes a vertical rod, a lateral rod and a wrapping element. The lateral rod is firmly disposed on the vertical rod. The wrapping element covers the rods. The arms are disposed on the body portion. The arms are height-adjustable and relative-distance-adjustable. As such, the kung fu training device is suitable for trainees with different body sizes, and almost whole training device can be attack by trainees without injury.

Abstract: A training and swing exercise device with resilient resistance is used as a training apparatus for developing greater power and strength at impact when striking a ball. The device provides impact resistance to a golfer, baseball player's, hockey player's, field hockey player's and tennis player's swing in order to develop greater strength and power at ball impact. The striking unit which pivots provides high impact absorption.

Abstract: A training device, including a collapsible stand having a central support shaft and a plurality of legs. In a first position, the legs and central support member shaft collapse into each other. In a second position, the legs and central support shaft extend perpendicular relative to each other into a self-supporting stand having the central support shaft in a substantially vertical position. A plurality of striking pads is releasably coupled to the central support shaft by a quick release connector. A T-bar support attaches to the central support shaft. The plurality of striking pads approximate the positioning of the hands of a person in an offensive/defensive position, the head of the person and the torso of the person.

Abstract: A double-end punching and exercise bag assembly and cable where the bag is vertically adjustable by extending the cable through the bag assembly and providing clamp assemblies at both ends of the bag assembly each having collet-like radial spring fingers activated by an axially movable threaded nut.

Abstract: An assembly structured to facilitate the practice of various martial art techniques by an individual such as kicks, punches and other physically delivered blows associated with various forms of the martial arts. At least one elongated stanchion is operatively supported by a base, preferably having a stabilizing assembly, in a substantially vertical, upright position. The stanchion comprises a plurality of support assemblies extending outwardly therefrom and being adjustable at various heights along the length thereof. Each or a predetermined number of the support assemblies include a mounting structure secured to an outer end thereof at a predetermined orientation. Each of the mounting structures is dimensioned, disposed and configured to have a striking target, such as a Thai pad, or like structure disposed in an exposed, accessible location to facilitate the delivery, by the individual, of different types of martial art blows.

Abstract: An athletic striking apparatus that includes at least an impact member supported by a base. The preferred embodiment further includes a plurality of predetermined angular settings provided by the base. The impact member preferably oscillates in one of at least two distinct predetermined frequencies. In accordance with the preferred embodiments, a method of using an athletic striking apparatus that includes at least the steps of providing an impact member supported by a base. A step of striking the impact member supported by the base preferably follows the providing step. The base further preferably provides a plurality of predetermined angular settings for the impact member. Also in an alternative preferred embodiment, the impact member oscillates in at least two distinct predetermined frequencies in response to an impact.

Abstract: An improvement to a striking bag for boxing or martial arts practice, which provides aural feedback to the user, as to the accuracy of strikes. Compressible pneumatic targets (10-A, 10-B, 10-C) are mounted partially into the side of a striking bag (9). Targets (10-A,10-B,10-C) are compressible both outside and inside the surface of the striking bag (9). When any of the pneumatic targets (10-A, 10-B, 10-C) are compressed by a strike, displaced air is driven into a pneumatic hose (34, 36, 38 respectively) which runs through the interior of the striking bag, connecting the pneumatic target to a whistle (12). Flexible washers on the inside (14) and outside (16) of striking bag (9) mount each pneumatic target (such as 10-A), onto striking bag (9). The inner washer (14), and outer washer (16), are connected through the surface of striking bag (9) by bolts (18,20,26, 28) and nuts (22,24,30,32). Alternate embodiments include pneumatic targets (10-D,10-E,10-F, 10-G,10-H).

Abstract: A kung fu training device of the present invention includes a positioning portion, a body pole, a shoulder portion, two joint portions, two arm portions and several pins. Polygonal holes and corresponding polygonal poles are disposed on pivoting ends of the shoulder, the first and second joints of the joint portions, and the arm connectors of the arm portions respectively. Thereby, the fist pads disposed on the distal ends of the arm portions are height-adjustable and angle-adjustable about the body pole, and the heights of the shoulder portion and the head portion are also adjustable. As a result, the training device of the present invention is suitable for the trainees with different body sizes to simulate fighting with simulating enemies with different body sizes, so as meet the trainees' need.

A CPU calculates a moving motion pitch on the basis of a detection signal from sensors that a switching circuit has selected, calculates the moving motion pitch by performing a processing having been selected from among plural kinds of processings, which have been stored in a memory, on the basis of the detection signal from the sensors that the switching circuit has selected, calculates the moving motion pitch by selecting the other processing among the plural kinds of processings when both the moving motion pitches differ, and performs a step number measurement by the selected processing when both the moving motion pitches become the same.

Abstract: A martial-arts training tool and more particularly a hand-held strike target configured to resemble a human head. The training tool including: a hand grip located within the strike target and spanning an inner cavity therein; a support collar attached to the strike target and configured to splint and pad the user's wrist and forearm; a height line attached to the strike target for assisting in maintaining the strike target at a desired height; and an external stabilizing grip located in the vicinity of the top of the strike target and configured to permit the user to stabilize the training tool with the user's other hand.

Abstract: A physical therapy apparatus includes a pole, a weighted base, and one or more types of grips. Weights are attached to the pole near the grips to counterbalance gravitational forces on the user and to thereby provide evenly proportioned tension throughout the full range of motion of the apparatus as it is moved. The apparatus may be moved in virtually any direction, providing constant tension for working and stretching muscles to aid in recovery from muscle injuries.

Abstract: A boxing equipment of the present invention includes a base, a disc member, a plastic pole, a boxing member and a sheath. The disc member is disposed on the base for housing a first end of a resilient member, and the pole is fastened to a second end of the resilient member. One end of the pole is mounted with the boxing member, while the sheath can fasten the boxing member with the pole.

Abstract: An inflatable punching bag includes an inflatable bag, at least one sensor device, a control box and a base. At least one impact area is formed on the inflatable bag. A single sensor device is attached behind each impact area. Each sensor device preferably includes a sensor case, at least one light source and an impact sensor. A control box includes a power source, a sound transducer and an electrical circuit. The electrical circuit receives input from at least one impact sensor. The electrical circuit provides a light output through the at least one light source and/or an audible output through the sound transducer. The base preferably includes a weighted portion and intermediate portion. The weighted portion is filled with a dense solid or a liquid to provide support for the inflatable bag. A second embodiment includes a motor for pivoting the inflatable bag.

Abstract: The martial arts accessory apparatus provides a sturdy backdrop for target attachments. The slideably fitted inserts fit in a plurality of positions within the sleeves. Additionally, the cross brace provides slideable fit of the target structure verticals, thereby providing target height adjustment. The first target structure provides for holding objects to be struck, such as boards or bricks, in a choice of pivoted positions, the first target structure fittable to the horizontal in a plurality of rotated positions, thereby providing for a user to ideally position the object to be struck. The first target structure provides a significant gap between arms so that impact follow through may be practiced without injury to the user. The variety of target structures and positioning capabilities allow a user to optimally locate each target or object to be struck so that a variety of striking positions and striking body parts can be used.

Abstract: A boxing equipment frame assembly, wherein the frame assembly is capable of supporting a plurality of punching bags including a speed bag and a heavy bag. The frame assembly includes a speed bag support assembly that includes a sliding bracket. The bracket serves as the means of connecting the speed bag support assembly to the main equipment frame. By using a sliding bracket that moves independently of the main support frame, the height of the speed bag can be adjusted without displacing any of the additional components attached to the frame. A piston is provided to apply a continuous upward force to the sliding bracket. In applying a continuous upward force the user has to put in less effort and a greater degree of control is achieved in adjusting the height of the speed bag.

Abstract: The invention pertains to a martial arts training device, a kit for assembling the device, and a method of using the device. The device includes a vertical elongate shaft supported by a rotary bearing, the rotary bearing supported by a base such that the shaft can rotate freely 360 degrees in either direction, the device including at least four arms, each arm extending out from the shaft at about a right angles thereto, the arms being located in spaced apart relationship both with respect to the length of the shaft and with respect to orientation around the shaft in a plane normal to the shaft, wherein each arm after a first arm has a predecessor arm along the shaft, and each arm after the first arm is rotated at least 60° with respect to its predecessor arm.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a training bag apparatus. A preferred embodiment of the training bag apparatus includes: (a) a base including (1) a bottom part having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein the lower surface has a rounded edge extending around the lower surface and (2) a top part attached to the upper surface of the bottom part of the base; and (b) a column supported on the top part of the base and extending substantially vertically upward from the top part of the base. The column and the base are an integral one-piece unit and move in the same direction when the column is struck.

Abstract: A martial arts kicking apparatus has a base with a post hinged to the base so that the post can be raised or lowered. The post support arm is hinged to the base and attached to the post for supporting the post. The post may be a telescoping post and has an elongated telescoping arm attached to one end thereof. A kick stick support arm is attached to the elongated arm and a kick stick is magnetically attached to the kick stick support arm for separation from the kick stick support arm when receiving a kick of predetermined force so that a martial arts kicking apparatus can be used for practice or in the martial arts game. A means to vary the magnetic force holding the kick stick to the kick stick support arm may be a movable permanent magnetic movably mounted to the kick stick support to vary the distance between the magnet and the kick stick or can be an electromagnet having a variable magnetic field.

Abstract: A rotatable training device includes a base that has an aperture formed therein. An elongated support member has a bottom end nested within the aperture and extends vertically upward therefrom, and has a bore formed therein. A mobile rectilinear rod is telescopically seated within the bore and has a top end terminating above and to an exterior of the support member. The rod includes a spring-loaded stop member that is connected to a bottom end thereof. A circular dial is positioned about the rod top end. An arm is telescopically positioned about the rod and is rotatable along a 360 degrees arcuate path in clockwise and counter clockwise directions. The arm has a flange portion extending from the rod and situated beyond an outer base perimeter. Padded punching pillows are affixed to front and rear sides of the flange portion. Detachable protective covers are affixed to the punching pillows.

Abstract: A sports training device includes a body having at least one hitting surface sized and shaped so as to receive a punch or kick delivered by a user. A sound generator is carried by the body for generating an audible sound and includes a switch carried by the body for causing the generator to generate the sound in response to an impact created by the punch or kick. The switch is movable between first and second conditions such that the generator generates the sound when the switch is in the first condition and the generator does not generate the sound when the switch is in the second condition. The switch moves from the second condition to the first condition in response to the impact. The switch also has an impact threshold for moving the switch from the second condition to the first condition. The switch includes an adjustment device for adjusting the threshold of the switch, whereby the switch can be set at a desired sensitivity for causing the generator to generate the sound.

Abstract: A martial arts training device comprising a stand having a base and at least one substantially vertically extending arm extending up from the base. There is also at least one guide coupled to the stand which is for guiding a user in performing exercises. In addition, to stabilize the stand there is a stabilizer for stabilizing against movement so that when a user accidentally contacts the guide, the stand remains substantially in place. The guide can be in the form of a rope, cord, or cable.

Abstract: A heavy bag uses one or more removable canisters placed inside a cover, substantially filling the cover and thereby forming a modular construction for the heavy bag. The cover has a selectively resealable closure which permits the canister or canisters to be inserted into or removed from the cover. The bag is formed from a set of the canisters within the cover. In one embodiment of the invention, the canisters are not all filled with the same stuffing material, causing the densities or hardnesses of the canisters to differ from each other, thereby creating zones of differing hardnesses within the bag. The canisters are preferably filled with stuffing material in the form of sand, pieces of rag, liquid, gel, foam, or egg-crate foam. The invention can include a structure to avoid separation of opposing surfaces of adjacent canisters received in the cover of the bag.

Abstract: A kick boxing training bag includes a foam rubber padding (17) slipped onto a supporting structure provided with a hollow base (3) which can be filled with ballast, the supporting structure including two hollow cylindrical rubber springs (9, 13) connected by a rigid rod (11). Abstract: An arrangement for supporting from a wall or column a martial arts dummy. The dummy has a vertically-extending, cylindrical body member that carries outwardly-extending arms and a leg to generally simulate a person for martial arts training and practice. A mounting bar that can be secured to a wall or column supports a pair of parallel, horizontal rods that carry a horizontal slat that passes laterally through the vertically-extending body of the dummy to allow side-to-side movement of the dummy along the slat. The outer ends of the rods include a stop member. Respective first and second springs are positioned between the slat and the mounting bar and between the slat and the stop members to allow forward and backward movement of the dummy in response to blows applied by the user.

Abstract: An apparatus for practicing martial arts defensive acts such as Karate kicking. The Karate Kick Exercise apparatus has a base frame, which is attached to a surface. The base frame has upright members that pivot on the base frame. The upright members have a top frame that also pivots on the upright members. A kicking target is attached to a kicking surface member, which in turn is attached to the top frame. The upright members are held in place by a spring-loaded air cylinder that holds the apparatus upright and provides means of absorbing the blows provided by a kicker. The frame pivots in the same direction as the air cylinder.

Abstract: A training device for boxing is formed of a base, an expandable support rod, and a spherical body. The expandable support rod is formed of at least one adjusting member, a lower tubular member, and an upper tubular member which is slidably received in the lower tubular member in conjunction with the adjusting member such that the upper tubular member is located by a seat tube and an upper lock ring of the adjusting member, and such that the lower tubular member is positioned by the seat tube and a lower lock ring of the adjusting member.

Abstract: An exercising device includes a first frame, a second frame rotatably supported on the first frame, thereby allowing the second frame to rotate relative to the first frame, and a linear track system fixedly attached to the second member such that track system rotates with the second frame relative to the first frame. The exercise device also includes a vehicle adapted to ride along a length of the track system, and at least one arm pivotally attached to the vehicle at a first location along the arm, and adapted to support the first punching bag at a second location along the arm, the first location being spaced apart from the second location.

Abstract: A boxing training target is formed with a central, elongated, elastic bungee cord at its core. The elastic, bungee cord core line is encompassed within a plastic sheath that is surrounded by a resilient foam jacket having an outer diameter of between about one-half and six inches. The jacket extends over a length of at least about five feet of the core line in an area corresponding to the vertical level of the head, torso, and legs of an opponent. A sheath surrounds the jacket and has indicia thereon at different vertical levels. The elastic bungee cord is maintained in tension between an overhead support and a floor support. As blows are delivered to the target, the target quivers laterally thus necessitating good hand and eye coordination to repeatedly land blows upon the target. The vertically separated indicia provide different target areas for a boxer to vary the vertical level at which successive blows are delivered.

Abstract: A practice device for enhancing strike ability of a boxer that includes a support, a tethered ball suspended from the support, and a deflector operatively connected to the support. The support includes a rigid sheet of material and four flexible lengths of cord nonrestrainingly suspending the sheet of material horizontally from an overhead. The tethered ball is suspended from the sheet of material. The deflector is disposed on one edge of the sheet of material and is wedge-shaped so as to allow the ball to deflect thereoff in a random pattern when stroked by the boxer. The deflector is a equilaterally-triangular-shaped sheet bent acutely, along its altitude, into a pair of panels. Each panel has a slot slid onto one edge of the sheet of material, with the apex of the sheet facing the center of the sheet of material.

Abstract: A device that trains a martial artist to kick. The device includes a stand and a target. The target extends adjustably outwardly from the stand and is kicked by the martial artist to train the martial artist to kick. The stand includes a base and a post with a lower end having a mortise therein. The base is T-shaped and includes a pair of separate members. Each member has a tongue. The tongues are abutted against each other and received in the mortise in the post, and in so doing, the pair of separate members are held together in the post and the post extends upwardly from the base. The target includes a collar that replaceably encircles the post and has at least one coil spring extending radially outwardly from respective sides thereof that engages a cushion to be kicked by the martial artist.

Abstract: A punching bag includes a chamber for receiving a soft or resilient barrel, and a container received in the barrel and having a chamber for selectively receiving insert materials therein. The container includes one or more rings disposed on top for hanging purposes. The container includes a port for filling the insert materials into the container. The rings may be solidly disposed on top of the container for solidly hanging the punching bag to any support frames or members. The bag includes an upper cover having one or more orifices for receiving the rings.

Abstract: The system includes a tall, open, multi-sided framework having a number of laterally spaced, upright legs that are interconnected by overhead structure in the form of elongated beams. The beams are located above normal human height so as to avoid interference with activities conducted within the open space defined by the framework. A number of trolley-like hangers are adjustably moveable along at least certain of the overhead beams for the purpose of suspending training devices such as kick bags or the like down into the space. Releaseable locks on the hangers are accessible by persons standing beneath the beams to facilitate selective engagement and disengagement of the locks and manual pulling of the hangers along the rails to either deployed positions out in the room space or stored positions adjacent the side of the framework. The framework is constructed in sections using removeable fasteners so as to facilitate on-site erection and disassembly.

Abstract: A punching aid includes a column disposed above a base, a pad attached on the column, and a flexible rubber pillar secured between the base and the column to provide a flexibility to the column relative to the base. The flexible rubber pillar includes two ends each having a coupler for detachably securing to the base and the column. The couplers each includes a protrusion and a disc engaged into the flexible rubber pillar when molding the rubber pillar. The flexible rubber pillar includes an upper and a lower peripheral recesses and a middle peripheral bulge for forming a wavy structure.

Abstract: A martial arts training bag is provided having a substantially cylindrical upper portion and a tapered, e.g., frusto-conical, lower portion. The bag preferably includes one or more head targets and one or more arms extending from the bag. The bag may also include a lance device, a striking ring, a kick post, a leg parry device and/or a high kick device.

Abstract: The present invention presents a glance blow detecting bag which rotates on a pivotal axis around a circular in shape adjustable bag mounting pole which is supported on a portable free standing stand for exercising and training a punch boxer, kick boxer, or football blocker, to strike the center of a moving target, and the center of a specific body part. The glance blow detecting bag assists in training accurate placement of blows by spinning rapidly upon detecting a glance blow when the center of the bag is missed on impact, and not spinning when the center of bag is hit indicating a good strike.

Abstract: An apparatus for kick boxing training or punching, the apparatus comprising: a base portion providing a way of increasing the weight of the base portion; an upright portion removably and fixedly engagable with the base portion; and a cushion portion removably engagable with the upright portion and positioned for receiving hand and foot blows from an upright boxer. The base portion provides a circular base plate for resting the apparatus on a surface, and a circular sidewall, the sidewall joining the base plate in an outside radiused peripheral edge. The outside radiused peripheral edge is enabled such that a blow received by the cushion portion causes the apparatus to rotate about the radiused peripheral edge and to thereafter right itself.

Abstract: A balloon support system for playing a punching balloon game. This system comprises a movable ground base, a tubular planar arch member defining two upright legs and a top elongated transverse crossbar integral at opposite ends thereof to the upright legs, the bottom ends of the upright legs being anchored to the ground base. A rotatable balloon mount is installed to an intermediate section of the top cross-bar for rotatably carrying a balloon thereon. An elongated pivotal arm member is pivotally mounted at an inner end thereof to the ground base for pivotal movement of the arm member between a first position, generally parallel to the arch member, and a second ground engaging position, extending transversely from the plane of the arch member. A foot support panel member is fixedly mounted to an outer end portion of the pivotal arm member for movement therewith, and includes a foot rest surface.
