  • Patent number: 8535208
Abstract: Tool rack for tools of a coordinate measuring machine, wherein the guiding and retaining surfaces of the tool rack are arranged on two planes offset vertically so as to cause the tool to tilt when it is unhooked. The inventive arrangement allows the mechanical efforts during uncoupling to be reduced appreciably. This reduction is due to the tool tilting and to the residual magnetic force being divided between three retaining point, with a positive effect on the coupling precision and on the tool positioning in the tool rack.

  • Patent number: 6626809
Abstract: A machining center is provided with a cutter depot structure comprising a cutter socket, a cutter disk, and a round machine frame. The cutter socket is rotatably mounted on the periphery of the cutter disk by a retaining pin which is put through an L-shaped rod of the cutter socket. The L-shaped rod is provided with a roller. The cutter disk is provided with an annular stop surface. The round machine frame is provided with a wearproof annular pad having a cut. The cutter socket in motion is confined by the stop surface of the cutter disk and the annular pad of the machine frame such that the cutter socket is kept in the horizontal state. The cutter socket is turned on the retaining pin to facilitate the inverting of the cutter, thereby resulting in reduction in length of a cutter exchanging arm.

  • Patent number: 6514184
Abstract: A rotating tool pot chain is capable of bending in both directions, the tool pot sweeps a relatively small area as it rotates, and the chain is capable of holding the tool pot stably. A pair of inner link plates (23) and a pair of outer link plates (24), are formed with openings to provide tool pot storage areas (23a, 24a) so that the tool pot, when stored, is parallel direction with the adjacent link connection pins 26. The center of each tool pot storage area (23a, 24a) is located on a chain pitch line passing through the centers of the adjacent connection pins 26. Further, the fulcrum (support pin 50) on which the tool pot 42 rotates is below the level of the adjacent connection pins 26 but above the bottoms of the tool pot storage areas (23a, 24a).
