  • Patent number: 10125529
Abstract: A lever mechanism system includes push arms pivotably coupled to a vent sash and drive arms pivotably coupled to the push arms. The system includes gears coupled to the drive arms and a locking gear slide coupled with a locking mechanism of the sash. The system includes a handle that rotates approximately 180 degrees in a first direction to pivot the gear slide to move the locking mechanism of the sash to an unlocked position and rotates the gears to extend the drive arms and the push arms such that the sash is pushed to an open position. The handle radially rotates approximately 180 degrees in a second direction to rotate the gears to retract the drive arms and the push arms such that the sash is pulled to a closed position and pivots the gear slide to move the locking mechanism of the sash to a locked position.

Abstract: There is provided a space-saving and compact swing type door structure of an aircraft restroom, in which a door is automatically closed and which is easy to use for a passenger using the restroom. The swing type door (40) is slidably hung at its upper end edge (44) from a rail disposed at an upper portion of a door frame by a guide structure including a slide pin (46) and is turnably connected in a predetermined position different from the hung position to the door frame by a linkage (60). Swinging operation in opening the door (40) deforms a spring provided in an automatic closing device (50). When a hand is released from the door (40), the door (40) is constantly biased in a closing direction by spring resilience through the linkage (60) and automatically returns to a closed position. • Patent number: 4555829
Abstract: A window stay comprises a pair of mounting plates, one being adapted for mounting to a window frame and the other being adapted for mounting to a window sash. The frame and sash mounting plates are coupled together by first and second arms, the first arm being shorter than said second arm, each of the first and second arms being pivotally connected to the sash mounting plate. The first arm is pivotally connected at a fixed point to the frame mounting plate. There is a third arm pivotally connected to the second arm, one of the second arm and said third arm being pivotally connected at a fixed point to the frame mounting plate and the other of the second and third arms being pivotally and slidingly connected to the frame mounting plate for sliding movement in a substantially longitudinal direction along the frame mounting plate.

  • Patent number: 4543747
Abstract: A retractable backlight apparatus for vehicles includes arcuate-shaped guide tracks mounted within the vehicle on opposite sides of the backlight panel. Rollers operably driven by a drive motor and connected to the backlight panel ride within the guide tracks to move the backlight panel between a raised, angled position closing the rear opening in the vehicle roof structure to a retracted, substantially vertical, stowed position within the interior of the vehicle. In one embodiment, a link is connected between a roller and the backlight panel and provides a final pivoting movement of the bottom edge of the backlight panel to bring the backlight panel into secure, sealing engagement in the vehicle roof structure when in the raised condition. A closure panel is pivotally mounted within the vehicle forward of the backlight panel and operably connected to the backlight panel to control the tilting movement of the backlight panel as the backlight panel moves between the raised and retracted positions.

  • Patent number: 4424646
Abstract: A vent-type window structure, having one or more vent sashes each mounted by means of a pair of hinges respectively disposed at the opposite sides of the sash, wherein at least one of the sashes is positively secured to each of its associated hinges only by a single manually removable pin, to facilitate rapid removal of the sash or sashes for use of the window opening as an emergency egress opening. Each pin has a manually graspable ring at the inner side of the sash, and projects through the side of the sash and the associated hinge, being retained by a yieldable element abutting the hinge; when the pin is pulled manually in an axial direction toward the center of the sash, the latter element yields to enable extraction of the pin. The two pins respectively on the opposite sides of a sash are positioned so that they can be easily withdrawn together by pulling them toward each other.

  • Patent number: 4306377
Abstract: Suspension hardware for interior doors, such as closet or wardrobe doors and the like, incorporating overhead and floor mounted hardware assemblies, each incorporating a pair of angularly intersecting track means; the track means of cooperating assemblies being aligned in superposed registry in operation. One track means of each assembly parallels the wall in which the door opening is formed while the other track means is in intersecting relation thereto. Door brackets are affixed to the inner face of the door, adjacent its upper and lower edges, and guide members are mounted thereon for sliding movement along associated track means. Each guide member is pivotally joined to the door (via the associated door bracket) for pivotal movement about a vertical axis so that the door is movable simultaneously along the intersecting paths of the track means to produce arcuate swinging door action.

  • Patent number: 4223483
Abstract: A combination hinge and opening bias mechanism for a closure of a vehicle such as a trunk deck lid including a hinge arm attached at one end to the closure with the other end guided by a horizontal track extending beneath an adjacent backlite of the vehicle body. Movement of the end of the hinge arm in the track is controlled by the pivoting of a torsion bar which extends laterally across the closure and with the end of a crankarm portion attached in pivotal relation to the body. During opening movement, the hinged edge of the closure pivots upward and slightly rearward as the elongated portion of the torsion bar rotates about the crankarm end. This upward movement is accompanied by rearward movement of the hinge arm in the track. The simultaneous dual pivoting of the closure moves the hinged edge portion of the closure rapidly upwardly in a substantially vertical direction so as not to contact the adjacent backlite of the vehicle which is only slightly spaced forward thereof.
