Closure Moving Force Applied Through Latch Releaser Patents (Class 49/293)
  • Patent number: 11619070
Abstract: A corral gate latch release device facilitates quick release of a corral gate latch without a user having to dismount from a horse. The device includes a gate door and a latch coupled to and extending from the gate door. A base post is positioned adjacent to the gate door when the gate door is in a closed position. A latch lock is positioned on the base post to engage the latch when the gate door is in the closed position. A linkage is coupled to the base post and is operationally coupled to the latch lock to disengage the latch lock from the latch. A grip arm is operationally coupled to the linkage to be grasped to move the linkage for disengaging the latch lock from the latch.

  • Patent number: 8474184
Abstract: An apparatus and method for opening a door (48) from a remote location including a lever assembly (20) and a pulling line (22), the pulling line (22) having attached thereto a door handle engagement (60), the lever assembly (20) including at least a first guide (40) and a second guide (42) for guiding the pulling line (22) and a mounting apparatus (24) for mounting the lever assembly (20) to or adjacent a door (48), the first and second guides (40,42) being positioned such that when the pulling line (22) is prevented from moving through the first guide (40), pulling on the pulling line (22) acts to cause the lever assembly (20) to apply a force to urge the door to open (48). This apparatus allows an operator to gradually open a door or to apply a suitable force if, for example, the door (48) is stuck in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 7318632
Abstract: A storage cabinet having a latching mechanism that can be unlatched by the use of either an upper actuator or a lower actuator is provided. The upper actuator may comprise a hand knob while the lower actuator may comprise a foot pedal. Thus, if an operator has his arms full and wants to open the doors of the cabinet, he can simply do so by actuating the foot pedal. Alternately, the doors of the cabinet may be opened by actuating the hand knob. This design affords the operator much flexibility in accessing the storage cabinet. A storage cabinet with a latching mechanism that is protected from damage under abusive conditions is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6883274
Abstract: A method and device for opening a door includes a receptacle structure. The receptacle structure is coupled to the door. The receptacle structure has a top surface and an angled guiding surface. The top surface forms an angled protrusion. The receptacle structure has a receptacle and the receptacle is formed between the top surface and the angled guiding surface. The device also includes a latching rod and a sliding assembly coupled to the latching rod. Movement of the sliding assembly causes the latching rod to contact the angled protrusion. The contact of the latching rod with the angled protrusion of the receptacle structure causes the rod to push the receptacle structure and the door to a partially open position. After contacting the angled protrusion, the latching rod navigates across the angled guiding surface of the receptacle structure, pushing the door to a further partially open position.
