One Direction Pull Cable-type Patents (Class 49/301)
  • Publication number: 20140013667
Abstract: A door device for a vehicle includes: a cable for connecting a handle device, which is mounted to the door panel of the door body covering a door opening of the vehicle body in an openable and closable manner, and a lock unit, with which the door body is engaged. A cable holding member mounted to the handle device is displaced between an engagement position at which the cable holding member engages with the cable and a non-engagement position at which the cable holding member does not engage with the cable. An interference section, which is provided to the door panel, is configured such that, in a state in which the handle device is mounted to the door panel, the interference section interferes with the cable holding member located at the non-engagement position and does not interfere with the cable holding member located at the engagement position.

  • Patent number: 8474184
Abstract: An apparatus and method for opening a door (48) from a remote location including a lever assembly (20) and a pulling line (22), the pulling line (22) having attached thereto a door handle engagement (60), the lever assembly (20) including at least a first guide (40) and a second guide (42) for guiding the pulling line (22) and a mounting apparatus (24) for mounting the lever assembly (20) to or adjacent a door (48), the first and second guides (40,42) being positioned such that when the pulling line (22) is prevented from moving through the first guide (40), pulling on the pulling line (22) acts to cause the lever assembly (20) to apply a force to urge the door to open (48). This apparatus allows an operator to gradually open a door or to apply a suitable force if, for example, the door (48) is stuck in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6588150
Abstract: A window assembly includes a housing and a winder rotatably connected to the housing, where the winder includes a slot. The housing is mounted on a window sash. A flexible filament is disposed within the slot and is operative with the winder to withdraw window sash latches from a window frame so that the window sash can be removed from the frame.

  • Patent number: 6357805
Abstract: A device is provided for unlatching a door which is latched into a door frame where the door latch assembly includes an elongate lever arm rotatable about an axis from a first latched orientation to second unlatched orientation. The device includes a cable having a first end attachable to the distal end of the lever arm and a second end attached to a take up spool. The take up spool is rotated by a motor in a first direction to take up the cable and thereby draw the lever arm from the first latched orientation to the second unlatched orientation and thereafter rotate in the second direction to release the cable and allow the lever arm to return from the second unlatched orientation to the first latched orientation.

  • Patent number: 5218784
Abstract: An apparatus for opening and closing a top bin lid from below such that, when in the fully opened position, the lid will not extend above the plane of the opening. The apparatus utilizes an elongated lever arm pivotally mounted on the pivot axis of the bin lid. A flexible linkage, such as a chain extends from below, over the lever arm and is connected to a gravity biased latch system which holds the lid in the closed position until the chain is pulled from below. After the latch is released, further drawing of the chain will pivot the lid and arm about their common pivot axis until the arm is obstructed from further movement by the bin. Continued pulling of the chain will draw the lid toward the lever arm against spring pressure until the lid has been pivoted approximately 180.degree. from its closed position.

  • Patent number: 4956939
Abstract: A releasable connection device for connecting a motor driven drive cable to a closure includes a pin attached to the closure and having a spherical head. A housing member connected to the cable has an elongated slot formed in a lateral wall and receiving the spherical head of the pin. A ramp surface formed on the housing member at the end of the elongated slot furthest from the cable is engaged by the head of the pin. A spring clip mounted on the housing member has opposed spring arms which encircle the spherical head to retain the head of the pin in the elongated slot of the housing member to connect the motor driven drive element and the vehicle body closure. The spring arms yield in response to a predetermined level of forced imposed thereon by the spherical head of the pin so that the pin is ejected laterally through the opening to disconnect the drive element from the closure.

  • Patent number: 4850140
Abstract: A releasable connection device for connecting a motor driven drive cable to a closure includes a pin attached to the closure and having a head supported by a necked down stem. A cylindrical housing member has an opening in a lateral wall thereof which receives the pin. A slide member is attached to the drive cable and is reciprocably carried by the housing member. The slide member has an open ended slot smaller than the head of the pin and receiving the necked down stem. A spring acts between the housing member and the slide member to urge the members to relative positions in which the head of the pin is captured to effect a connection between the drive cable and the closure. The spring yields upon imposition of force to permit energy absorbing limited relative movement between the members and yields further to permit withdrawal of the open ended slot of the slide member beyond the head of the pin so that the pin is released from the housing member.
