  • Patent number: 9562387
Abstract: A door bottom system is used with an entryway system having a door panel movable between open and closed positions. The door bottom system includes a door sweep movable with the door panel between first and second positions corresponding with the open and closed positions, respectively. The door bottom system includes a threshold assembly including a sill that defines a channel adapted for accepting a fluid. The threshold assembly includes a seal extending downwardly toward the sill to a distal end and movable between initial and sealed positions. The door sweep selectively engages and moves the seal from the initial position in the first position to the sealed position in the second position. The seal extends over and covers the channel in the initial position. The seal at least partially uncovers the channel in the sealed position such that the distal end of the seal is positioned above the channel.

  • Patent number: 7124538
Abstract: A doorway assembly, preferably for a sliding door, includes a barrier plate extending across the lower portion of the doorway to prevent the intrusion of water during severe weather conditions. A notch within the barrier plate, provides a substantially obstruction-free passageway through the doorway and, is sealed by compressing a compressible gasket, attached to a compression panel mounted to move with the sliding door, against the barrier plate. An actuator is structured to move the compression panel toward the barrier plate in response to operation of a latch lever, thereby compressing the compressible gasket and providing a seal between the compression panel and the barrier plate adjacent the notch.

  • Patent number: 6082047
Abstract: A draft strip device for a door includes a channel support section which is fixed at a base of the door. A movable part is mounted in the channel support section. The movable part is movable towards and away from the floor under the door. At least one weather strip seal is supported by the movable part and rests on the floor when the movable part is lowered. A pushing element is at one end of the movable part. The pushing element is intended to be engaged with a respective doorjamb to bring about a lowering of the movable part and the resting on the floor of the weather strip seal when the door is closed. At least one adjusting element is provided to adjust a position of the movable part. A first brace and a first attachment slide and an adjusting slide are provided. The first brace is connected at its ends to the first attachment slide, which is inserted and can be moved longitudinally in the support section, and to the adjusting slide, which is inserted and can be moved longitudinally in the movable part.

  • Patent number: 6061967
Abstract: A door sealing assembly for closing the gap between the lower edge of a door and an underlying floor surface includes an elongated threshold mounted to the floor beneath an overhead door. The threshold presents a plurality of slots which can be aligned with and coupled to fasteners anchored to the floor surface itself. The lower surface of the threshold further includes an adhesive layer which further contributes to the secure mounting of the threshold to the floor as well as inhibiting draught between the floor and threshold. The upper surface of the threshold presents a recess extending along the length thereof. A seal is attached to the lower edge of the door and is configured to nest within the recess. A resilient sheet of impervious material extends across the recess when the door is in an open position and is depressed into the recess by the seal when the door is moved to a closed position to close the gap between the lower edge of the door and the underlying floor surface.

  • Patent number: 5327681
Abstract: A guide rail device is provided for hanging doors. The device is effective to accurately guide the hanging door without deviation, yet does not project up from the floor when the doors are open, as is the case with a guide rail or a groove-rail mounted on the floor surface. When the hanging doors are open, guides of the device are retracted into a guide rail in the floor surface and thus do not project from the floor surface. When the hanging doors are closed, the guides are projected from the floor surface and are fitted in a long groove from in a bottom end surface of the hanging doors, such that the hanging doors are prevented from deviating while being moved.

  • Patent number: 4198785
Abstract: A door seal for an inside compartment of a railway passenger vehicle. A door that moves on rollers laterally into and from a door opening to a stored position in a hollow portion of an adjacent wall. The lower portion of the door is located adjacent a threshold having a movable, flexible seal that moves between a flat position covering a roller track portion of the threshold to a substantially upright position against the bottom of the door when the door is located in a closed position. The seal is constructed of a resilient material and bends to be urged against the lower portion of the door in such a fashion as to seal out noise, debris, light and the like. When the door is open the seal returns to a flat, horizontal position to prevent an accumulation of debris or dirt in the door track which would interfere with movement of the door.
