  • Patent number: 4125966
Abstract: A unitized frame housing a slidable door. The main body of the frame is a single molded structure fittable between a pair of walls within a building. Guide means provided within the main body slidably receives a door which is opened and closed by an electric motor. Various linkages and gears connect the electric motor to the door. A neck integrally attached to the main body extends outwardly of the building walls housing the main body of the frame forms a passageway allowing access through the building walls and main body when the door is not closed. The neck flares outwardly providing a trim portion which seats outwardly of the building walls facilitating a smooth boundary between the building and neck. Means are provided for securing the unitized main body to the building.

  • Patent number: 4121381
Abstract: An articulated window lifter, especially for motor vehicles, whose windowpane is to be not only lowered within predetermined boundaries but also has to be laterally displaced and pivoted for purposes of avoiding door frame parts and the like which lie in its way; a pinion supported on a base plate engages with a toothed sector which is pivotally supported on the base plate while linkage parts are pivotally connected with the toothed sector; two four-jointed transmissions with a common fixed pivot point on a base plate are thereby used in superposed relationship, whereby one of the four-jointed transmissions has a further pivot point on the base plate and includes two pivot arms pivotally supported in the two pivot points on the base plate and a rod connecting the two pivot arms with each other; the other four-jointed transmission includes a first pivot arm connected at a fixed angle, with a first one of the two pivot arms of the one four-jointed transmission; the first pivot arm of the other four-jointed tran

  • Patent number: 4120120
Abstract: A window is mounted on supporting structure of a motorcar body on a carrier for limited vertical movement. A motion-transmitting linkage connecting the carrier to a lifting drive includes a link which is movably secured to the carrier and the supporting structure. One of the securing devices for the link includes a forked guide channel having the shape of a tuning fork and bounding a keyhole-shaped guide slot. A guide pin has a shank slidably received in the slot and two enlarged heads outside the slot on respective ends of the shank. The width of the enlarged slot part is sufficient to pass one of the heads while the remainder of the slot is narrower than the corresponding dimensions of both heads for securing the pin against transverse movement out of the narrow slot part.

  • Patent number: 4069616
Abstract: A window regulator mechanism for sequentially moving a plurality of window panels between open and closed positions including a pivotal gear sector adapted to rotate first through a first range of pivotal movement, while directly controlling the operation of a small vent window and which sequentially rotates through a second range of pivotal movement to directly control the operation of a second window. Lost motion means and a latch mechanism prevent simultaneous movement of the vent and the second window.

  • Patent number: 4026088
Abstract: A window pane holder which retains the bottom end of a window pane, slidably mounted in a sash on a door of an automotive vehicle, and which is connected with an elevating unit for lifting and lowering the window pane. The holder comprises a framework formed of a hard synthetic resin and including a pair of opposite sidewalls and a bottom, the sidewalls defining a slot therebetween for receiving the window pane. The holder also comprises an extension downwardly depending from the framework. At least in the end portions of the slot, the pair of sidewalls are provided with ribs extending into such slot portions and having surfaces which are adapted to bear against the window pane as it is received into the slot so as to leave a clearance between the sidewalls and the window pane in which to receive an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 3934925
Abstract: To meet the legal requirements for bus safety, all locking devices on entrance and emergency doors must be removed before the bus is placed in service. For that purpose, the ignition key is made part of a simple locking assembly that is used to lock the emergency door. The driver's obtaining the key to operate the bus engine, insures the unlocking of the emergency door. The unlocking of the entrance door is accomplished by an inside pivoted cam assembly, actuated by a locking handle on the outside of the bus. The unlocking pivoted cam assembly inside the bus, then entirely disengages the door controlling mechanism, which then has normal operating freedom.
