  • Patent number: 9132720
Abstract: A sash mounting structure includes positioners which are respectively provided at the lower end of an insertion support portion and the upper end of a lower sash that are inserted into and supported by a door panel, and which define the position of the lower sash relative to the side sash by being mutually engaged; and a fixer which is provided between the lower sash and the door panel, has a predetermined degree of freedom in fixing position in a vertical direction and fixes the lower sash to the door panel, wherein the lower sash is fixed to the door panel with the lower sash being positioned by the positioners. This structure strikes a balance between easiness of positioning the lower sash and accommodation of variations in accuracy, thus making it possible to improve the mounting workability when mounting the lower sash to the door panel.

  • Patent number: 5086586
Abstract: A vehicle door assembly has a framed door and a window which is movable between open and closed positions. The window is biased outwardly toward an outer flange on the framed door by a first seal and is guided via pin guides secured to its side lower end by guide channels which include outwardly curved upper guide track sections which are supported for limited movement relative to the stationary lower guide tracks. The upper curved guide track sections are movable by the pin guides as the window approaches its closed position so the window will be substantiallly flush on all four sides with the door frame and outer door panel and thus this flushness is achieved irrespective of the tolerance variatons in the height of the frame and window.

  • Patent number: 5027555
Abstract: A window regulator for a motor vehicle is provided. The window regulator is arranged to provide a controlled movement of a window pane between a raised position and a lowered position, the window pane being guided on two opposite edges by guide means. The window regulator comprises a lifting arm slidingly connected to the window pane at one end and pivotable about a point near its other end, means to produce rotation of the lifting arm about the point to produce said controlled movement of the window pane and a control arm slidingly connected to the window pane at one end and constrained at its other end to move in a pre-determined manner in response to pivotal movement of the lifting arm about the said point. The lifting arm and the control arm are pivotally interconnected intermediate their respective ends at a position spaced from the said point and means are provided to bias the window pane towards one of the guide means at least when the window pane approaches its raised position.

  • Patent number: 4910914
Abstract: A windowpane guide structure in an automobile door assembly includes a windowpane drive mechanism for driving a windowpane up and down between closed and open positions, at least one guide rail member housed completely within the windowpane chamber defined between outer and inner door panels of the door assembly, and a slide member operatively interconnecting the windowpane and the guide rail member. The guide rail member is stationarily supported by the door assembly so as to extend substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the windowpane and is shaped and curved to permit the lower edge of the windowpane during the movement of the windowpane from the closed position towards the open position to progressively move generally straight downwards, slightly deflect towards the inner door panel and then deflect towards the outer door panel before the windowpane reaches the open position, i.e. to travel in a generally S-shaped trajectory.

  • Patent number: 4747232
Abstract: A stabilizer (24) for a vehicle side door window (16) includes a molded plastic stabilizer member (26) having a vertical groove (28) that receives a vertical window edge to control the path of window movement and window positioning in an upper closed position. An adjustable connection (30) of the stabilizer (24) permits inboard and outboard adjustment of the location of the top edge (22) of the window (16) in order to provide effective sealing. The stabilizer member (26) is preferably mounted on a front projection (34) of the associated vehicle door (14) and stabilizes the front window edge (18). A mounting bracket (48) associated with the adjustable connection (30) cooperates in providing the mounting of the stabilizer member (26) on the front door projection (34) and has stop flanges (80) and (82) that limit the extremes of adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4550529
Abstract: Stabilizing mechanism for the rear end of a raised vehicle window includes a stabilizer track mounted in the door and including a vertical upper portion and a forward curving lower portion. A stabilizer link has a lower end carrying a roller captured in the track and an upper end pivoted to a sash bracket carried by the window. The link erects to a stand-up position extending between the track and the window when the window is raised. The link collapses to a stored position extending between the lower portion of the track and the sash bracket when the window is lowered. The link has an offset arm carrying a tapered pin which seats in a bushing carried by the door as the window reaches the fully raised position to stabilize the link to the door. The link and the sash bracket have interfitting tongue and groove elements which mate as the window reaches its fully raised position to stabilize the link to the window.
