Abstract: Door and frame assemblies are disclosed by the present application. In one exemplary embodiment, the a door is connected to a door frame, such that the door is moveable between an open position and a closed position. Activation of a trigger causes a door frame coupling arrangement to couple the door frame to the door in a closed position to thereby inhibit movement of the door relative to the frame. In another exemplary embodiment, a door is coupled to a door frame by a hinge. The hinge is configured to move the door in translation as the door is rotated from the open position to the closed position. For example, the hinge may move the door downward, toward the sill, when the door is moved from the open position to the closed position.

The chamber housing includes an access opening and the sterilizer or pressure vessel includes a door with hinge structure facilitating door movement between an opened condition, a latch condition and a latched and sealed condition. A seal is connected with at least one of the chamber housing and the door and is disposed in sealing engagement around the access opening when the door is in the latched and sealed condition. After latch structure on the door is initially actuated by a user, a motorized drive mechanism with a rotatable output connects with the latch structure such that rotation of the output moves the door from the initially latched condition to the latched and sealed condition.

  • Patent number: 6014840
Abstract: A heated sliding window assembly comprising a fixed portion comprising a circumferential frame and a fixed pane attached to the circumferential frame, with the fixed pane having an electrically conductive heating grid. A sliding pane is slidable within the circumferential frame between an open position and a closed position, and the sliding pane has an electrically conductive heating grid. A first conductive element is mounted on the fixed portion and a second conductive element is mounted on the sliding pane. The first and second conductive elements are routed through a latch assembly, and are electrically connected together when the sliding pane is in the closed position. To connect the heating grid of the sliding pane to the heating grid of a second fixed pane, third and fourth conductive elements are employed, either routed through the same latch assembly as the above mentioned first and second conductive elements or mounted at an end of the sliding pane remote from the latch assembly.

  • Patent number: 5996284
Abstract: A sliding vehicle window assembly which includes at least one, and preferably a pair, of window panels spaced from each other to define a window opening and interconnected by upper and lower frame members or tracks, bonded to the interior surface of the pair of window panels. The upper and lower frame members are also spaced vertically apart from each other. At least one, and preferably two, arcuate channels are defined in each of the inwardly facing walls of the two frame members--the two channels arranged generally in tandem or end-to-end alignment. The pair of channels in each frame member are configured to receive a window panel, opposite ends of which retain cam or channel followers received by the channels. A latch handle interconnects one end of each cam follower and includes a cam projection also received in the channel and when rotated in one end of the channels, moves the sliding window generally perpendicularly with respect to the window opening when the window is located over the window opening.

  • Patent number: 5836110
Abstract: A modular window assembly has a glazing pane, typically a slider assembly incorporating a vertically mounted transparent pane, which is slidably mounted in a rear-mounted frame. The slider pane is mounted for moving laterally back and forth between a closed and an open position. A drive subassembly comprises a drive drum and handle remotely mounted in the passenger compartment for moving the sliding pane back and forth between the open and closed positions. An anti-backdrive subassembly is connected to the drive drum and the handle to substantially prevent opening or closing of the slider pane by forces other than operation of the handle. The drive subassembly further comprises a mechanism for operatively connecting the handle to the sliding pane, for example, a drive cable mounted in the roof above a roof liner. When the handle is rotated in either direction, the drive drum wraps and unwraps corresponding segments of the drive cable, pulling the sliding pane between its open and closed position.
