Abstract: A shutter device for covering windows; which incorporates two panels. Each panel has clear and printed areas which are digitized with an image. When the shutters are moved in the open position, the images merge and the images of the two shutters appear back to back. When the shutters are moved in the opposite direction closed, the image from both shutters is visible. In addition to providing aesthetic appeal of the merging image, the shutter provides and blocks vision though the shutter as one panel is moved with respect to the other. The shutter device is adaptable to semicircular, circular and rectangular windows. The shutter utilizes two panels mounted on the inside of a frame; one of the panels is moveable. The panels are of a clear material, such as glass or plastic, each panel has alternate clear and printed areas.

Abstract: A shutter device for covering windows provides two shutters, each shutter having clear and opaque areas to provide and block vision though the shutter as one panel is moved with respect to the other. The shutter device is adaptable to semicircular, circular and rectangular windows. The shutter utilizes two panel, one fixed panel mounted on widow and one moveable panel, of clear material, such as glass or plastic, each panel has alternate clear and opaque areas. When the two panels are aligned so that clear areas are adjacent (open position), there is viewing through the window. When an opaque area is aligned over a clear area, vision through the shutter (closed position) is blocked.

  • Patent number: 5918417
Abstract: A shutter assembly for installation across an arched window includes a fixed shutter and a movable shutter coupled to the fixed shutter for rotation between open and closed positions. A permanent magnet is attached to the movable shutter for opposite-pole magnetic attraction coupling with a permanent magnet carried on a portable, hand-held actuator. The movable shutter is engaged magnetically and indirectly by placing the actuator end portion of the portable actuator in contact with the fixed shutter in an operative position proximate to the permanent magnet on the movable shutter. The movable shutter is then rotated either clockwise or counter-clockwise by sliding the actuator end portion along an arc across the face of the fixed shutter. The permanent magnet is concealed from view by the fixed shutter, thereby preserving its ornamental appearance.
