  • Patent number: 4653802
Abstract: A vehicle roof and door connection having a panel member for covering a portion of the exterior of the vehicle. The panel member includes a roof portion and a side portion. The side portion contains an upper end connected to the roof portion and a lower end. The lower end is spaced from the upper end and includes an engagement member. The panel member also includes a channel recessed along the upper end. A support frame is connected to the panel member along the interior of the vehicle through an attachment member having an upper frame and a lower frame. The upper frame contains a first planar portion adjacent the support frame and the second planar portion adjacent the engagement member. The lower frame includes an inner extension and an outer extension. The inner extension is secured to the upper frame, while the outer extension extends along the exterior of the vehicle proximate the lower end to form a gap between the outer extension and the lower end, which is filled with a sealing resin.

  • Patent number: 4502248
Abstract: The specification discloses a vehicle window assembly including a slidable window glass supported by and guided along only one edge of the glass. More specifically, the assembly comprises a window glass, a molded guide bonded to one edge of the glass, and a pillar defining a channel in which the guide is slidingly received. The pillar and guide cooperate to permit the guide to move axially within the channel and to prevent the guide from passing transversely out of the channel so that the window glass must travel in a linear path. Also disclosed is a latch supported by the glass and extending through the guide. The latch includes an actuating portion located outside the pillar and a catch portion located and hidden within the pillar.

  • Patent number: 4494337
Abstract: In construction of a door in a motor vehicle, in which a slide piece or pieces secured to end portion of a door glass are slidably coupled into a guide groove of a guide portion of a door frame to thereby guide the door glass in the vertical direction, the outer surface of the door glass and the outer surface of the door frame are substantially flush with each other, and the construction includes a door glass weather strip for sealing between the door glass and the door frame and a door weather strip for sealing between the door and the body when the door is closed, the door glass weather strip is provided closer to the compartment's side than said guide portion, the slide piece is secured to the forward end of a bracket projecting outwardly from an end edge of the door glass substantially in parallel to the glass surface, the guide portion is opened toward the end edge of the door glass to thereby form a guide groove for enclosing said slide piece, the outer wall surface of the guide portion is made substant

  • Patent number: 4454687
Abstract: An arrangement for guiding and supporting a windowpane is disclosed which is particularly suited for embodiment in association with the windowpanes of a tractor cab. The arrangement includes a unitary guide member with integral biasing means adapted to receive the marginal edge portion of a windowpane. The unitary guide is adapted for operative engagement with a support channel or track for slidable movement of the windowpane and guide together within the track. Retention means are provided to prevent undesired disengagement of the unitary guide from the support track. The track and unitary guide are preferably extruded elements which are formed from resilient material to effect the desired biased engagement of the guide with the track, and to accommodate fabrication and assembly of the arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4375737
Abstract: A sliding window sash assembly glazed with vinyl film and adapted for easy attachment to framework openings in screened enclosures and the like for use as a wind break under adverse weather conditions is described. Both the window framework and the sash frameworks are fabricated of thin wall-section extruded aluminum members, and to prevent sticking and jamming of the sashes in the frame, improved slide members are removably fitted along the sash side rails and slidingly fitted in vertically-extending, T-shaped grooves formed along the insides of the window frame. The slides are fabricated of a resilient plastic material, hollow along their lengths for the reception of compression springs operative to frictionally press longitudinal side portions of the slide members against inner wall portions of the T-shaped grooves along which they slide.

  • Patent number: 4248158
Abstract: An outlet assembly for application to hoppers of railroad hopper cars and the like, and slidably mounting a gate for movement between open and closed positions, in which the gate slideway is defined by trackway forming members disposed at either side edge of and across the mid portion of the gate outlet port, and having the respective load supporting surfaces each lined with a special liner formed from an ultra high molecular weight polymeric material that is of dry self lubricating characteristics. The gate side edges ride on the liners of the track forming members at the respective side edges of the outlet port, and the respective gate side edges and the liners supporting same cooperate to effect a bulk material seal at the respective side edges of the gate.

  • Patent number: 3946524
Abstract: An arrangement of profile members for sash windows, sliding doors and the like which includes interconnected blind frame profile members of similar cross-section along the length thereof connected to one another to form a blind frame. Sash frames are also formed by constant cross-section sash frame profile members interconnected to one another. To accommodate a simple attachment and detachment of a sash frame to a blind frame, a V-shaped elastic mounting profile element is provided which snap-fittingly attaches to the blind frame and guidingly accommodates the sash frame. This elastic profile mounting element is provided along three sides of the frame construction with the other side including a T-shaped aluminum guide rail for accommodating sash rollers or the like.
