  • Patent number: 8807185
Abstract: A body ply turn-up device for turning up at least one width-end portion of a body ply expanded into a toroidal shape includes a plurality of arm components movable in the axial direction of an operating shaft and pivotable radially of the operating shaft. Guide members are respectively supported on an end portion of each arm component and coil springs are interposed in respective spaces between guide members. Elastic members respectively cover the outer surfaces of the coil springs for performing pressing at spaces between spiral wire portions thereof when the arm components are pivoted radially outward of the operating shaft. Alternatively, the guide portions include portions which are smaller than the inner diameter of the coil spring and which extend to positions nearly touching each other at a center in a lengthwise direction of each coil spring in a state that the arm components are contracted.

  • Patent number: 8475069
Abstract: In a portable small size printer unit 1, when a pickup roller is replaced, user grips a roller main body and slides it resisting a bias force of a spring. Consequently, when the roller main body is slid, the entire length of the pickup roller is shortened, so that a first convex portion is removed from a first concave portion. After that, the front end of a slide shaft member is removed from a shaft mounting portion by tilting the roller main body and then, the pickup roller is removed from the printing mechanism unit. By sliding the slide shaft member outward of the roller main body, the roller main body is taken out of the slide shaft member and the like so as to replace only the roller main body.

  • Patent number: 8397781
Abstract: In a body ply turn-up device, a plurality of arm components are circumferentially arranged to be movable in the axial direction of an operating shaft and to be pivotable radially of the operating shaft, guide members are respectively supported at both sides on an end portion of each arm component to be rotatable about an axis parallel to a pivot axis of each arm component, coil springs are interposed in respective spaces each between two guide members respectively supported on the arm components adjoining to be rotatable about respective arc axes around the operating shaft, and pressing members, which supplementarily cover respective spaces between the coil springs are rotatably supported on the arm components ahead of or behind the coil springs. Thus, the turn-up device can turn up both width-end portions of the body ply by an even pressing force without leaving any spaces in the circumference even in the case of being high in turn-up height.

  • Patent number: 5556514
Abstract: In an extended nip press employing an endless loop nip blanket the invention is a gear-actuated blanket edge clamp. The ends of the blanket are sealed to rotatably mounted heads and forced against sealing surfaces on the heads by shoes which are mounted radially about the heads. The shoes are pivotally mounted to main pivot links. These in turn are pivotally mounted to the head. A jack link joins each of the main links to an expanding gear ring. The gear ring is rotatably mounted to the head about the axis of the head's rotation. The gear ring has two opposed gear teeth segments. Two opposed pinion gears which are mounted on shafts ride on the geared sections. The shafts are turned from the exterior of the head, and cause the expanding gear ring to rotate. The rotation of the gear ring causes the jack links to press against the main links, causing the main links in turn to swing radially outwardly. The outward displacement of the main links causes the shoes to move outwardly against the clamping surface.
