With Leather Or Fabric Cover Patents (Class 492/55)
  • Patent number: 8449683
Abstract: An apparatus and method for picking up stickers in grassy or other ground areas. A roller is rotatably mounted on a frame and a stretchable fabric is removably mounted and stretched on an outer surface of the roller. The fabric is of a construction and thickness to pick up stickers as the roller is moved by the frame and rotated in engagement with a grassy or other ground surface. When the fabric is full of stickers, it is removed from the roller and replaced with a new unused stretchable fabric that is removably mounted on the roller.

  • Patent number: 7871362
Abstract: The invention relates to an exchangeable cylinder jacket-shaped cover made of pile whose threads radially project outward. The aim of the invention is to provide a cover of this type, which has a high cohesive strength both in the axial as well as radial direction and which also has an outer and inner cylindrical contour that is as continuous as possible. To this end, the invention provides that the cover consists of an endless helically wound pile strip whose edges are interconnected by an endless helically running seam without forming a step that disrupts the cylindrical outer contour.

  • Publication number: 20100210435
Abstract: A composite paint roller is provided for improving ease of cleaning, manufacture and adaptability of the same. The roller comprises an elongate cylindrical core, a sheath, and first and second end caps. The sheath is removably mountable about and frictionally engageable to the core. The core defines a core length and opposing open ends. The sheath defines an axial length and opposing sheath ends. The axial length of the sheath is greater than the core length with the opposing sheath ends being foldable and axially insertable into the opposing open ends to produce a radial compression of the sheath adjacent the opposing open ends. The radial compression creates opposing beveled ends of the roller. The first and second end caps each are attachable to the opposing open ends to secure the opposing sheath ends within the opposing open ends.

  • Patent number: 6435740
Abstract: In a shutter facing an aperture portion in a partition plate in a photosensitive material processing device, a blocking member, formed substantially in a semicircular cylindrical shape, is placed by the rotation of a shaft between blades thereby closing the aperture portion. The opening between the blades is opened by rotating the blocking member integrally with the shaft so that a photosensitive material can pass through. Multi-leveled surfaces are formed on the top surface of a guide plate. Aperture portions for mounting rollers with adaptors are formed in an alternating pattern on the surfaces. A plurality of protruding guide ribs are provided extending across the surfaces. A plurality of brush roller parameters are adjusted so that a winding mark index defined by the parameters falls within a predetermined range. Rollers are washed when a finisher control system is restarted after an unforeseen long stoppage.

  • Patent number: 5635034
Abstract: A method for removing air from a suction roll/suction cylinder and a suction roll/suction cylinder including a roll mantle, end flanges connected to the roll mantle and axle journals for revolvingly supported the roll mantle. The mantle has numerous perforations, holes or equivalent openings passing therethrough. The suction roll/suction cylinder is connected to a suction duct that passes onto the interior of the roll/cylinder and transfers a vacuum force therein. Air is drawn or sucked through the perforations into the interior of the roll mantle so as to press a paper web toward an outer face of the roll mantle. The suction roll/suction cylinder has a system of suction pipes connected with the suction duct and including at least one suction pipe into which air is guided and/or sucked from the vicinity of the inner face of the roll mantle of the roll/cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5466343
Abstract: A suction roll for a paper machine in which a stationary suction shoe is arranged inside a revolving mantle loop and is connected to a source of negative pressure. The mantle loop is a substantially water-receiving and permeable fabric-sock loop that receives water and is, in a preferred embodiment, supported by means of guide members arranged inside the loop. The suction shoe is provided with a permeable guide deck against which the inner face of the fabric-sock loop glides.

  • Patent number: 5309631
Abstract: One end of a belt-like fiber material is longitudinally sewn by a sewing machine using a sewing thread. The tensile strength of a bobbin thread is preferably higher than that of a needle thread. In this state, one end of the belt-like fiber material is sewn while being drawn by the bobbin thread, whereby the longitudinal length of the sewn end becomes shorter than that of the other end. As a result, the belt-like fiber material forms a circular arc with the inside surface of the arc being formed by the sewn end while the outside surface of the arc being formed by the other end. The circular arc shaped by the sewn belt-like material is then mounted on a roll shaft in such a manner that the thick face of the sewn end comes in contact with the roll shaft.
