Parallelepiped Or Tetrahedron Shape Patents (Class 493/934)
  • Patent number: 6783277
Abstract: A standup bags made of a flexible material and methods of producing these standup bags. In particular, the standup bags have at least one substantially flat surface which is free of seams and folds. When the bag is filled with a flowable substance, the pressure exerted by the fluid upon the flat surfaces allows the bag to be self-standing. Additionally, the standup includes at least one contour structure that defines the geometry of the bag and also contributes to the standup bag's ability to be self-standing when even partially filled with a flowable substance.

  • Patent number: 6194533
Abstract: Disclosed is a liner film for bulk container, which comprises a polyethylene (A) prepared by the use of a single site olefin polymerization catalyst such as a metallocene catalyst, said polyethylene (A) having a density of 0.920 to 0.940 g/cm3, MFR of 0.1 to 3.0 g/10 min and a melting point of 115 to 135° C. When the film is heat-sealed, its sealed portion preferably has a tensile strength at break (Ts) of 2.0 to 4.0 kg/15 mm and a tensile elongation at break (EL) of 150 to 600%. The liner film for bulk container has the advantages: the film can be made lightweight by decreasing the film thickness; the film shows such a high heat-sealing strength that the heat-sealed portion is not broken even if no adhesive tape is attached thereto; and a bulk container liner formed from the film can be filled with a content of a higher temperature than the conventional temperature. Also disclosed is a bulk container liner shaping the above film into a bag.

  • Patent number: 5863499
Abstract: A self-venting package (A) contains peracetic acid or other strong oxidants in a unit dose that assures sterilization of instruments and equipment in an automated sterilizing apparatus (FIG. 3) or of biological wastes in a biological waste comminuting apparatus (FIG. 4). The self-venting package is constructed of a cylindrical body having first and second vent apertures (12, 14) 180.degree. offset adjacent a first edge (20) and third and fourth vent apertures (16, 18) 180.degree. offset adjacent a second edge (26). The first and second vent apertures are 90.degree. offset relative to the third and fourth vent apertures. The first edge is flattened and sealed forming a pair of corners (40, 42) such that the first and second vent apertures are disposed closely adjacent the first and second corners. The container is filled with peracetic acid or other liquids which liberate gas or vapors. A second end (26) of the container is flattened and sealed in a direction transverse to the first edge.

  • Patent number: 5857952
Abstract: A flat trapezoidal container provides a generally frustoconical single cavity for snugly sheathing a flower pot. The container is specifically dimensioned sheath a flower pot so as either (a) to leave therebeneath, a surplus of film in an transition zone which is concealable under the flower pot, or (b) form a hexagonal gusset in the bottom. The container is made from two flat panels of heat-sealable film, each shaped in the general form of a trapezium; or from a single web folded double. The lower portion of the container is ornamentally imprinted along a border extending beneath a generally lateral line above the longitudinal axis of the web; and, with a marker in the upper portion, identifies the contents, or provides instructions for their use or care. When the cavity is distended by being partially filled, the entire container, except for a transition zone, presents a smoothly arcuate surface of the frustum of a cone.

  • Patent number: 4977724
Abstract: Trapezoidal sections are simultaneously heat sealed and cut from a long strip of sheet plastic folded over double or in tubular form. Cutting one long corner and inserting air opens the interior volume of the trapezoid. Crimping the long ends horizontally, with the trapezoidal plane held vertically, and heat sealing one bottom end forms a tent-shaped bag. The paint bags are placed in a molded tote tray and gang filled through the cut ends and a number of the cut ends heat sealed simultaneously by a bar sealer. The molded tote tray is also used to transport and display the paint bags. Each paint bag fits into a paint applicator having a tent-shaped receiving space directly contacting a paint pad with multiple holes. The paint bag is punctured and squeezed to supply paint continuously to the pad through the holes. A tubular sheet of plastic creates disposable paint bags filled through one of the bottom ends before sealing. Folded over plastic sheets create open-topped refillable paint bags.

  • Patent number: 4464156
Abstract: A parallelepipedic packing container of the type which is provided with a sealing fin which extends over the upper end wall of the packing container as well as over triangular, double-walled lugs adjoining this end wall. The sealing fin comprises a narrow sealing zone on the outer edge of the fin and a tearing perforation on the base line of the fin, the tearing perforation extending from the tip of one triangular lug to a point on the end wall of the packing container. The sealing fin is unsealed in the area between the narrow sealing zone and the tearing perforation, and moreover a corresponding sealing fin arranged at the base of the packing container is appreciably narrower than the sealing fin wherein the tearing perforation is arranged.
