Abstract: A wrap around bed frame for use in supporting a box spring and mattress having side rails and cross members and a foot member that is affixed to the foot ends of the side rails to provide support for the foot end of the bedding. The entire bed frame can be assembled with fittings that do not require tools for assembly and thus, the bed frame can be assembled easily by the user by simply sliding or snapping the components together. Protective shields cover the bed frame so as to minimize harm to a person inadvertently striking one of the bed frame components. The foot member is comprised of an upper and lower member affixed together. There are also center wedges on the cross members where a foot can be affixed to the center wedge to facilitate assembly of the bed frame.

The mattress support includes a foldable longitudinal bar, a lateral bar, side panels, wooden slats, block legs and a footboard, all of which fit inside a compartment in the headboard. In an assembled state of the mattress support, a first connector at one end of the longitudinal bar attaches to a third connector on the outside of the headboard. A second connector at the other end of the longitudinal bar attaches to a fourth connector on the footboard. The middle of the lateral bar connects to the middle of the longitudinal bar. The block legs are attached to the bottom sides of the headboard and footboard. The slats are attached to one another by fabric ribbons and are placed in parallel over the longitudinal bar and support ledges on the side panels.

Abstract: A bed frame end board that can be easily disassembled and reassembled to replace damaged components and reduce the cost and labor associated with refurbishment of dormitory beds including a vertically oriented rail configured to interlock with a bed frame side member, an outboard panel, and an inboard panel; and vertically spaced apart cross members having opposite ends fixed to the posts, wherein the outboard panels are releasably fixed to the rail by a fastening system having a slotted fastening clip on the rail and a stud on the outboard panel engaging a slot in the clip, and wherein the cross members are releasably attached to the posts with a threaded fastener and stabilized against rotational movement with respect to the post by dowels received in aligned bores extending into abutting surfaces of the panels and posts.

Abstract: A combination bed includes a front frame, a rear frame detachably connected with the front frame, and a connecting frame mounted between the front frame and the rear frame so that the front frame and the rear frame are supported and combined together by the connecting frame. The front frame includes a front support and two front bars each having a first end pivotally connected with the front support and a second end connected with the rear frame. The rear frame includes a rear support and two rear bars each having a first end pivotally connected with the rear support and a second end connected with the respective front bar. Thus, the front frame, the rear frame and the connecting frame can be connected and disconnected so that the combination bed is assembled and disassembled easily and quickly.

Abstract: A kit contains disassembled bed frame components that upon assembly form the bed frame. The components include a pair of planks, each plank comprising a plurality of boards that upon being oriented from end-to-end have abutting ends detachably connected together by interlocking components, including male and a female element. The interlocking components engage by insertion of the male element into the female element and sliding abutting ends past each other in one direction. The interlocking components disengage by sliding them relative to each other in a reverse direction.

Abstract: A bed frame comprising T shaped side rails provide support for a box spring and mattress. A leg assembly is affixed to the bed frame and is affixed to the side rail and to the cross rails for better strength of connection. The use of T-shaped side rails provides more resistance to twisting and bowing and thereby more resistant to damage a leg or other structural component of the bed frame from moving the bed frame across the floor. The use of the T-shape cross section side rails enables the overall bed frame to support more weight with less deflection than the convention L-shaped side rails. There are also headboard and footboard brackets that take advantage of the greater height of the vertical flange of the side rail to have affixation means, such as rivets, that are further spaced apart to provide a more rigid connection between the brackets and the side rails.

Abstract: A unitary headboard comprises a single piece of laminated plywood that has two posts and at least one cross piece cut out of it. A bed frame comprising side rails and cross supports has each side rail formed of a single piece of material. Each side rail has a support ledge and a lip where the foundation extending between the side rails can be selected from springs or boards at the user's option.

Abstract: The wooden bed frame shown in the figures is designed to reduce the effect of the house dust mite upon a sleeper allergic to such mites. The bed incorporates a number of features each of which contribute to reduce asthma attacks for sleepers sensitive to the house dust mite. The bed frame includes a footboard (2) and a headboard (1) outwardly inclined at an angle of between 5° and 25°, preferably at 15°, to the vertical. The headboard (1) and footboard (2), both extend beyond the width of an air mattress (not shown) lying between stringers (3 and 4) to ensure good circumjacent air circulation even when located against a wall. The mattress is supported on slats (6) mounted between the stringers (3 and 4). In use the air mattress may be covered by a quilted cotton material that is readily washed and dried so that it does not act as a natural host for house dust mites.

Abstract: A bracket is provided for use in pairs to secure a headboard to a bed frame. The bracket includes a first bracket assembly defined by relatively U-shaped pivotally connected first and second bracket members and a second bracket assembly defined by pivotally connected relatively shallow U-shaped third and fourth bracket members. The second and fourth bracket members are interconnected by relatively slidable first and second connector members of a connector assembly which can be fixed in selective positions of relative adjustment. The first and third bracket members are secured to a respective bed frame and headboard and the relative pivoting and sliding connections allow two such brackets to be utilized for any sized bed, be it single, queen, king, etc.

Abstract: A therapeutic bedding pad having a body portion and two laterally spaced elongated portions. The body portion is preferably disposed to overly a bedding mattress and includes a head end and a foot end. The two elongated portions are symmetrically disposed laterally opposite the body portion and are substantially the same length as the body portion. The portions further define curved surfaces that are elevated several inches above the surface of the body portion to provide support for a user.

Abstract: A bracket for attaching a side rail to a headboard and a footboard to form a bed having an L-shaped body portion with a side section and an end section, means releasably securing the side section to the side rail, threaded means within the body portion end section to cooperatively receive screw means extending through at least the headboard to hold at least the headboard securely against the body portion end section and the side rail end portion.
